Job Overview:
The National Consultant for Celebrity and Influencer Engagement will play a crucial role in enhancing the visibility and impact of UNDP's initiatives in Bangladesh. This position involves strategizing and executing engagement plans with celebrities and influencers to promote UNDP's mission and projects. The consultant will be responsible for identifying key influencers in various sectors, developing partnerships, and creating campaigns that resonate with the target audience. The consultant will also need to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of these engagements, ensuring that they align with UNDP's goals and objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of social media dynamics, public relations, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders. The consultant will work closely with UNDP's communication team and other relevant departments to ensure a cohesive approach to influencer engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Identify and engage with relevant celebrities and influencers who align with UNDP's mission and values.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive engagement strategy that outlines how to leverage celebrity and influencer partnerships to enhance UNDP's visibility.
  • Create compelling content and campaigns that can be shared by influencers to promote UNDP's initiatives.
  • Monitor social media trends and public sentiment to inform engagement strategies.
  • Evaluate the impact of influencer campaigns and provide recommendations for future engagements.
  • Collaborate with UNDP's communication team to ensure messaging is consistent and effective.
  • Prepare reports on engagement activities and their outcomes for UNDP management.
  • Attend relevant events and meetings to represent UNDP and build relationships with potential influencers.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in public relations, communications, or a related field, particularly in engaging with celebrities and influencers.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and their role in modern communication strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive messages.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess the effectiveness of engagement strategies and campaigns.
  • Familiarity with UNDP's mission and development goals is an advantage.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and may be considered an asset.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in communications, public relations, or a related field is required. Experience working with celebrities or influencers is highly desirable. Familiarity with the development sector and UNDP's work will be considered an advantage.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Bengali is highly desirable, as it will facilitate better engagement with local influencers and audiences. Knowledge of other languages may be considered an asset.

The contract duration for this position is for 35 working days over a period of 4 months, expected from August 2026 to December 202
  • This is a consultancy role, and the consultant will be expected to work on a flexible schedule to accommodate various engagements. The position is open to both national and international candidates, and compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
