Job Description
Job Posting Organization:
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) was established in 1965 and serves as the global development network of the United Nations. It operates in nearly 170 countries and territories, working towards its mission of eradicating poverty, reducing inequalities, and building resilience to crises and shocks. The Istanbul Regional Hub (IRH) acts as UNDP's primary knowledge and advisory center for the Europe and Central Asia region, focusing on sustainable development and environmental protection.

Job Overview:
The position involves supporting UNDP’s Biodiversity Finance Initiative (BIOFIN) in editing and producing video content for a global communications campaign in preparation for the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17). The role is crucial in translating complex technical subjects into engaging and accessible stories that resonate with policymakers, partners, practitioners, and the general public. The volunteers will contribute to increasing the visibility of biodiversity finance results at the country level, presenting technical information in clear formats, and producing content in English, Spanish, and French. They will also help equip BIOFIN teams with adaptable campaign materials and enhance public understanding of the importance of biodiversity financing.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The volunteers will be responsible for editing and producing a total of 6 videos in three different languages. Their tasks will include editing 3-4 videos and interviews into short, engaging formats suitable for social media, adding subtitles, on-screen text, transitions, music, and basic motion graphics as needed. They will adapt videos for various platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and the BIOFIN website, ensuring adherence to UNDP and BIOFIN branding, accessibility, and editorial standards. The volunteers will also incorporate feedback and submit finalized video files along with editable project files. Assignments will be allocated based on language proficiency, availability, and editing experience, with opportunities for collaboration on multilingual video versions.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong video editing skills and experience with video production. Familiarity with social media formats and requirements is essential. The ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to feedback is crucial. Knowledge of biodiversity finance and UNDP's mission would be advantageous but is not mandatory. Proficiency in video editing software and tools is required, along with a creative approach to storytelling through video.

Educational Background:
While specific educational qualifications are not explicitly stated, a background in media production, communications, environmental science, or a related field would be beneficial. Relevant coursework or training in video editing and production techniques is highly desirable.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience in video editing and production, ideally with a portfolio showcasing previous work. Experience in creating content for social media platforms is also important. Familiarity with the themes of biodiversity and environmental finance would enhance a candidate's suitability for the role.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, with additional language skills in Spanish and French being highly desirable. The ability to edit and produce content in these languages will be a significant asset for the role.

Additional Notes:
The position is a volunteer role, and while specific details regarding contract duration and compensation are not provided, it is implied that the role is part-time and project-based, focusing on the COP17 campaign. The volunteers will receive comprehensive background information on BIOFIN, the campaign narrative, and relevant UNDP communications standards to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
