Job Overview:
The position of Individual Consultant for the 'Know Your Rights' training workshops is designed to empower people living with HIV and key populations by providing them with essential knowledge about their rights. The consultant will be responsible for developing and delivering training sessions that educate participants on legal rights, health rights, and social rights, ensuring they are informed and capable of advocating for themselves. The assignment will span a period of 7 working days, scheduled between August and December 2026, and aims to enhance the capacity of individuals to navigate legal and social systems effectively. The consultant will work closely with UNDP to tailor the training content to the specific needs of the target groups, ensuring relevance and impact.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Individual Consultant include:

• Developing comprehensive training materials that cover the rights of people living with HIV and key populations.
• Conducting training workshops that are interactive and engaging, allowing participants to ask questions and share experiences.
• Assessing the training needs of the participants to ensure that the content is relevant and tailored to their specific circumstances.
• Collaborating with UNDP and other stakeholders to ensure the training aligns with broader health and human rights initiatives.
• Evaluating the effectiveness of the training sessions through feedback and assessments, and making necessary adjustments for future workshops.
• Providing ongoing support and resources to participants post-training to reinforce their learning and advocacy efforts.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this position include:

• Proven expertise in human rights, particularly in relation to HIV and key populations.
• Strong understanding of the legal frameworks and policies affecting people living with HIV.
• Experience in designing and delivering training programs, particularly in a health or human rights context.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community groups.

Educational Background:
Candidates should possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in law, public health, social sciences, or a related field. A master’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and may be considered an asset. Additional certifications or training in human rights, public health, or adult education will be advantageous.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in human rights advocacy, public health, or community education. Experience working with marginalized populations, particularly those affected by HIV, is essential. Familiarity with UNDP’s mission and operations will be considered a plus, as will experience in conducting training workshops in diverse cultural settings.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable, as it will facilitate communication with local participants. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the target populations may also be beneficial.

Additional Notes:
This position is a short-term consultancy role, with a contract duration of 7 working days spread over a period of 5 months. The consultant will be expected to work flexibly within this timeframe to accommodate the scheduling of training sessions. The role is part-time, and the consultant will be compensated based on the deliverables outlined in the contract.
