Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be tasked with several key responsibilities, including but not limited to: conducting field research to collect relevant data on economic and social conditions in the Cusco region; developing a comprehensive conceptual framework that outlines the strategic approach for the proposed interventions; preparing a territorial diagnosis that identifies key challenges and opportunities for economic and productive development; formulating technical guidelines that will serve as a roadmap for implementing the interventions; collaborating with local stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, and other relevant actors to ensure that the interventions are contextually appropriate and effective; analyzing existing policies and programs related to social inclusion and economic development to identify gaps and areas for improvement; and preparing detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to UNDP and other stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong academic background and professional qualifications, including a degree in Economics, Sociology, Political Science, Public Management, Statistics, Economic Engineering, Anthropology, or related fields. Additionally, candidates should have postgraduate studies (Master's or Diploma) in public policy, public innovation, social development, project management, research, or related areas. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to social development and possess the analytical skills necessary to evaluate complex social issues.
Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a professional degree in a relevant field such as Economics, Sociology, Political Science, Public Management, Statistics, Economic Engineering, or Anthropology. Furthermore, candidates are expected to have completed postgraduate studies, which may include a Master's degree or a diploma in areas such as public policy, public innovation, social development, project management, or research methodologies. This advanced education is essential for understanding the complexities of social and economic development.
Experience:
Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of general experience in the public and/or private sector, specifically related to social development, public policies, and/or economic inclusion. Additionally, at least 5 years of specific experience is required in the design, implementation, or evaluation of policies, programs, or projects focused on social development or economic productivity. This experience should be demonstrable through relevant documentation such as contracts, service orders, or work certificates that validate the candidate's professional history and expertise in the field.
Languages:
Proficiency in Spanish is mandatory for this position, as the work will be conducted in a Spanish-speaking environment. Knowledge of English is considered an asset and may enhance the candidate's ability to engage with international stakeholders and access a broader range of resources and literature relevant to the consultancy.
Additional Notes:
This position is classified as an Individual Contractor role, which means it is intended for natural persons rather than organizations.
