Job Overview:
The Programme Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the Kiribati Pacific Partnership and the Markets for Change (M4C) project. This position involves providing administrative, operational, and programmatic support to ensure effective implementation of UN Women’s initiatives aimed at ending violence against women and promoting women's economic empowerment. The Programme Associate will work closely with the EVAWG Programme Coordinator and M4C National Project Coordinator, contributing to research, financial management, procurement, and human resources. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Associate's responsibilities include providing advanced administrative and logistical support for programme management, assisting in the preparation of work plans and budgets, coordinating audits, developing standard operating procedures, and compiling data for reports and documents. The role also involves financial management tasks such as creating projects in Quantum, monitoring budgets, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. Additionally, the Programme Associate will oversee logistical arrangements for meetings and events, manage travel arrangements, prepare public information materials, and coordinate procurement activities. The position requires the incumbent to support resource mobilization efforts and facilitate knowledge sharing within the organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of secondary education, with a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration considered an asset. The role requires at least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in administration or programme management/support, proficiency in office software, and familiarity with Quantum/Oracle systems. Experience in the UN system and knowledge of Pacific cultures, particularly in Kiribati, are advantageous. Strong financial and budgeting skills, along with excellent IT capabilities, are essential for this position.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement is the completion of secondary education. A Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration is preferred and considered an asset for this role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in administration or programme management/support. Candidates should have experience working in a computer environment with multiple office software packages and familiarity with Quantum/Oracle systems is a plus. Previous experience in the UN system is also beneficial, as is experience in supporting a team and handling web-based management systems.

Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of the local language in Kiribati is considered an asset and would enhance communication and engagement with local stakeholders.
