Job Overview:
The position of Líder sectorial para el diseño de cualificaciones en minería y canteras involves leading the design of qualifications for the mining and quarrying sector based on the National Qualifications Framework methodology. The role is crucial for ensuring that the qualifications developed meet the needs of the industry and align with educational standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating with various stakeholders in the mining sector, including educational institutions and industry representatives, to gather insights and requirements for the qualifications. This position is expected to last for a period of five months, during which the individual will engage in extensive research, analysis, and collaboration to create a comprehensive framework for qualifications that will enhance the skills and competencies of professionals in the mining sector.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Líder sectorial include but are not limited to:
  • Leading the design and development of qualifications for the mining and quarrying sector.
  • Conducting thorough research on current industry standards and educational requirements.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders, including government agencies, educational institutions, and industry experts, to gather input and feedback on the qualifications framework.
  • Analyzing existing qualifications and identifying gaps that need to be addressed.
  • Developing a comprehensive report outlining the proposed qualifications and their alignment with the National Qualifications Framework.
  • Presenting findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders and making necessary adjustments based on feedback.
  • Ensuring that the qualifications developed are sustainable and can be implemented effectively within the industry.
  • Providing guidance and support to educational institutions in the implementation of the new qualifications.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the impact of the qualifications on the industry and making recommendations for future improvements.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this position include:
  • A professional university degree in engineering or natural sciences.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in activities related to the mining and extractive sector, either from the productive or educational sectors.
  • Proven experience in processes associated with mining exploitation or extraction and utilization of metallic and non-metallic minerals, underground mining, extractive sustainability, or industrial and environmental safety in mining.
  • Experience in supporting mining and quarry operations is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and research skills to assess industry needs and educational requirements.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a professional university degree in engineering or natural sciences. This educational background is essential as it provides the necessary technical knowledge and understanding of the mining sector, which is critical for the development of relevant qualifications.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the mining and extractive sector. This experience should encompass both practical and educational aspects, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the industry's challenges and requirements. Candidates should have a track record of working on projects related to mining operations, educational program development, or policy formulation in the sector.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is Spanish, as all communications and documentation will be conducted in this language. Proficiency in English or other languages may be considered an asset, but Spanish is essential for effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement.

This position is classified as an individual contractor role and is expected to last for a duration of five months. The work is full-time, and candidates must be able to commit to the entire duration of the assignment.
