Job Overview:
The Workforce Planning and Org Design Consultant will play a crucial role within the Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) team, which serves as a center of expertise for the organization. This position involves working closely with Country Offices and Regional Offices to develop practical workforce plans and organizational structures that align with WFP's strategic goals. The consultant will be responsible for analyzing workforce data, understanding operational needs, and translating these insights into actionable recommendations. The role requires a forward-thinking individual who enjoys collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders to ensure that WFP has the necessary human resources to fulfill its mission effectively. The consultant will also be involved in monitoring the implementation of workforce plans and contributing to the continuous improvement of SWP practices across the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant's primary duties will include serving as the regional technical focal point for Strategic Workforce Planning and Organizational Alignment Reviews, conducting comprehensive workforce analyses, and developing organizational design options based on findings. Responsibilities also encompass translating analytical insights into clear recommendations for Country Office management, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and ensuring the quality and consistency of workforce data. The consultant will monitor the implementation of workforce plans, support follow-up actions, and contribute to the enhancement of SWP tools and practices. Additionally, the consultant will perform other related duties as required, demonstrating analytical thinking, sound judgment, and a solution-oriented approach throughout the process.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong educational background, with an advanced university degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Organizational Psychology, Business or Public Administration, Economics, Data Analytics, Social Sciences, or a related field. A first-level university degree combined with relevant experience is also acceptable. Furthermore, candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in HR management, with at least 3 years specifically in Strategic Workforce Planning, Organizational Design, or HR consulting. Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills are essential, along with a strong understanding of strategic workforce planning and organizational design in complex or international settings.

Educational Background:
The educational requirements for this position include an advanced university degree in relevant fields such as Human Resources, Organizational Development, or Data Analytics. Alternatively, candidates with a first-level university degree and additional relevant experience will also be considered. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of workforce planning and organizational design within a humanitarian context.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in HR management, with at least 3 years dedicated to Strategic Workforce Planning, Organizational Design, or HR consulting. Candidates should have international experience, either through working abroad or in multicultural environments, which is vital for understanding the diverse contexts in which WFP operates. Strong analytical and project management skills are necessary to navigate the complexities of workforce planning effectively.

Languages:

This position is based in Nairobi and is expected to last for 11 months. The role may require travel within the assigned region and potentially to other locations as needed.
