Job Overview:
The Youth Specialist Mobile Youth Outreach position is a part-time role that involves working with children, young people, and families as part of the Mobile Youth Outreach program, which is a component of the Short-Term Remand Pilot Project. The primary aim of this role is to deliver weekly mobile youth programs that support assertive outreach and after-school programming for children and young people, as well as organizing monthly community events. The position requires the use of group facilitation skills and various creative digital technologies from the Mobile Youth Van to engage with young people in the Wagga Wagga region. The role is designed to ensure that young people are connected with appropriate support services and that the outreach programs are tailored to meet the needs of the local community, particularly focusing on reducing the overrepresentation of Aboriginal young people in the youth justice system.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Youth Specialist include delivering Mobile Youth Outreach programs in schools and after-school settings, providing community-based group work and casework support to young people, and building meaningful connections with children, young people, and families. The role also involves ensuring quality service delivery in line with program guidelines and stakeholder expectations, consulting regularly with local communities and service providers to ensure that the services meet local needs, and ensuring that young people are connected with appropriate support services as needed. Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Youth Specialist position must demonstrate experience in working with children and families who have experienced trauma, particularly with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families. They should possess knowledge and experience working in the Tolland area of Wagga Wagga, as well as experience in coaching and mentoring other professionals. The role requires high-level communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work in stressful and changing environments. A valid driver's license and a willingness to travel to various community settings are also essential.

Educational Background:
