DRC's mission is to ensure that displaced individuals receive the support they need to rebuild their lives amidst the ongoing political and economic crises in Sudan, which have been exacerbated by rising food and energy costs, disease outbreaks, and persistent conflict.

Job Overview:
The Partnership Officer role at DRC is designed for a dynamic and self-motivated individual who will be responsible for implementing the strategic partnerships framework and systems at the country level. The primary objective of this position is to strengthen existing and future partnerships with national NGOs, community-based organizations, civil society, the private sector, and research institutes. The Partnership Officer will be tasked with mapping out and identifying new partnership opportunities, assessing the capacities of partner organizations, facilitating relevant capacity strengthening support, ensuring compliance with donor requirements in partnership engagements, and providing ongoing management and coordination support to partner organizations throughout and after project implementation. This role is crucial in enhancing DRC's collaborative efforts and ensuring that partnerships are effective and aligned with the organization's strategic goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Partnership Officer will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:

• Strategic Coordination: Participate in DRC Sudan’s partnerships and localization strategy in collaboration with the partnership coordinator and program managers. Maintain productive links between partners and DRC program teams.
• Internal Capacity Building and Technical Guidance: Support DRC program and support staff in understanding and adhering to donor compliance for national partnerships. Review and contextualize existing partnership resources and identify additional needs for capacity assessment and project cycle management. Develop capacity and provide mentorship to key partnership focal points within DRC Sudan.
• Partnerships Management and Collaboration: Coordinate across teams to conduct partner organizational capacity assessments and analyze results to identify partners aligned with DRC’s strategy. Identify capacity strengthening needs and provide or coordinate training for partners. Manage partnerships directly alongside technical leads and ensure adherence to DRC’s policies and standards.
• Grants, Accountability, Reporting, and Learning: Ensure compliance with internal and external reporting requirements, manage partner payments, and provide input for donor reports. Document partner success stories and ensure adherence to DRC’s policies on age, gender, and diversity, as well as safeguarding policies. Perform other relevant tasks as requested by the partnership coordinator.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 years of practical experience working with the UN or an international NGO in a partnerships role focused on programming and capacity strengthening. A strong understanding of partnership principles and demonstrated experience in providing capacity-strengthening support to national partners is essential. Additionally, candidates should have experience with donor compliance and procedures throughout the project cycle, and a commitment to applying an age, gender, and diversity (AGD) and conflict-sensitive approach to programming is required.

Educational Background:
The educational qualifications required for this position include a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in political science, international development, economics, or a related field. A postgraduate degree is desirable, along with practical training or courses in partnership principles and capacity strengthening.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in partnerships roles, particularly in programming and capacity strengthening within the context of UN or INGO operations. Candidates should have a proven track record of working effectively with national partners and a solid understanding of the principles governing partnerships.

Languages:
Fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

This position is a national contract with a duration of 1 year. The salary range starts from USD 00.00 per month, and the duty station is in Nertiti, Sudan. The start date is as soon as possible, and the closing date for applications is 20/08/202
