Job Overview:
The position of National UN Volunteer is designed to provide strategic support to the Sub-Regional Office for Central Africa, based in Kinshasa. The volunteer will assist the Chief of the Sub-Regional Office in resource mobilization, partnership development, project preparation, coordination of the CAFI program, policy analysis, and organization of high-level regional initiatives. The role is crucial in facilitating the implementation of the land reform support program in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which is funded by the Central African Forest Initiative (CAFI). This program aims to modernize the national land system, enhance land security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, improve land governance, prevent land conflicts, and promote sustainable management of natural resources. The volunteer will also contribute to organizing a sub-regional symposium on land governance in Central Africa, bringing together various stakeholders to foster a common vision for land reform and enhance regional cooperation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support resource mobilization and partnership development by planning, organizing, and producing advocacy reports and strategic meetings with national decision-makers, diplomatic mission heads, and representatives of international organizations. Implement and monitor the resource mobilization strategy and ongoing projects, conduct ongoing research on funding calls and mechanisms, and develop a database of strategic donors and partners. Identify funding opportunities from bilateral, multilateral, philanthropic partners, and climate funds, and prepare funding opportunity briefs and orientation notes.
• Assist in project development by reviewing literature and facilitating discussions prior to drafting concept notes, developing project proposals, preparing logical frameworks, preliminary budgets, and coordinating technical contributions from teams.
• Support the CAFI land reform program by drafting reports on land program activities related to additional resource mobilization, planning and organizing coordination meetings with national, provincial, and international institutions, monitoring risk management, gender aspects of ongoing projects, and preparing partnership solicitation documents for the sub-regional symposium on land governance.
• Provide strategic support to the management of the sub-regional office by preparing briefing notes, drafting official correspondence, developing speeches and talking points, preparing official missions, coordinating follow-up on strategic decisions, preparing presentations for partners, and ensuring institutional relationship management with governments, UN agencies, and donors.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral, in French. They should have strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team and collaborate with multiple partners in a multicultural environment. Organizational skills are essential, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple files simultaneously, and meet deadlines. Technical skills include proficiency in office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and administrative management software.
