Job Overview:
As the Project Director, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of a child development, care, and protection project in Uganda. This role requires you to ensure that effective systems and processes are established to support project objectives and advance CRS's mission of serving the poor and vulnerable. Your leadership will be crucial in delivering high-quality programming and enhancing CRS's reputation as a leading agency in child development. You will oversee day-to-day project operations, ensure compliance with donor requirements, manage subawards, and coordinate effectively with consortium partners and government stakeholders. Required Qualifications:
Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field, international development, or international relations is required. A Master’s or Doctorate Degree in social work, education, health, or a related field is preferred, indicating a higher level of expertise and knowledge in the relevant sectors.
Experience:
Candidates should possess a minimum of 8 years of relevant management and health technical experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to managing donor funds, including multi-country grants. Additionally, a minimum of 2 years of experience in managing staff is required, demonstrating the ability to lead and develop a team effectively.
Languages:
Strong written and spoken English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Relationship Management: Act as the primary relationship manager with all in-country stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development, foreign governments, civil society partners, and community networks. Strengthen partnerships relevant to the project by applying CRS's partnership principles and tools.
- Project Management: Lead the development, implementation, and consolidation of the project, ensuring alignment with CRS quality principles, donor guidelines, and industry best practices. Manage the integration of project processes with the global project team and create a safe environment for sharing ideas and addressing challenges.
- Supervision: Oversee staffing plans and recruitment processes for senior staff, manage team dynamics, and provide coaching and mentoring. Ensure adherence to CRS safety and security policies.
- Program Quality: Enhance program quality and impact through technical assistance and capacity strengthening activities for staff and partners. Ensure compliance with donor expectations regarding results and budget.
- Program Learning: Lead program learning initiatives, identify opportunities for research and publications, and facilitate the dissemination of best practices and lessons learned.
- Stewardship: Ensure efficient use of agency and donor resources, compliance with donor guidelines, and oversight of budgets and reporting.
- Communications: Develop communication strategies and materials that comply with donor and CRS branding requirements.
Required Qualifications:
