Job Overview:
The Provincial Coordinator for the EpiC GHS project will serve as the primary representative of the project at the sub-national level, acting as a liaison between local government and public health authorities. This role is crucial for planning, coordinating, and monitoring all Global Health Security (GHS) activities within the assigned province. The coordinator will work closely with district-level Field Officers and the Jakarta-based team to ensure that interventions align with the established workplan. The position demands a high level of integrity, accountability, and initiative, along with advanced communication and facilitation skills. The coordinator will be responsible for managing project operations, ensuring compliance with FHI 360 and donor policies, and actively participating in coordination meetings to document progress and challenges. This role is vital for reinforcing Indonesia's capacity to prevent, detect, and respond to zoonotic disease threats, thereby contributing to the overall health security of the region.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree (bachelor’s or higher) in public health, global health, international relations, anthropology, medical sciences, or a related field. Certification in project management is strongly desired. Candidates should have a minimum of eight years of professional experience in managing public health projects, particularly in global health security, epidemic response, or health systems strengthening. Experience in managing human, financial, and logistical resources at the provincial level is required, along with familiarity with local government offices and One Health stakeholders. Proven experience with Indonesia’s health and laboratory systems at the subnational level is also strongly desired.
Educational Background:
A bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field such as public health, global health, or medical sciences is required for this position. Certification in project management is highly preferred, indicating a strong foundation in managing complex projects effectively.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of eight years of professional experience in public health project management, with a focus on global health security and epidemic response. Candidates should demonstrate experience in managing resources and budgets at the provincial level, as well as familiarity with local government operations and health systems in Indonesia.
Languages:
Proficiency in written and spoken Bahasa Indonesia is mandatory, along with proficiency in English. Strong communication skills in both languages are essential for effective collaboration and representation of the project.
Additional Notes:
The position may require frequent travel within the province (approximately 60% of the time) to support district-level activities and Field Officers, with occasional travel to Jakarta or other provinces (about 5%). The expected annual salary range for this role is IDR 136,000,000 - 200,000,000, depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications. - Activity Management and Supervision (40%): Lead the planning and management of GHS activities in collaboration with Field Officers, ensuring adaptive implementation at the provincial and district levels. Supervise Field Officer activities, providing support and direction, and manage project operations and expenses while ensuring compliance with organizational policies. Participate in regular coordination meetings with the Associate Director and technical staff, documenting progress and challenges.
- Coordination and Partnership (40%): Act as the primary contact between EpiC GHS staff and sub-national health authorities, representing the project at local health cluster meetings. Provide technical assistance on response planning and health emergency management, coordinate logistics support, and engage with decision-makers during zoonotic disease outbreaks to mobilize rapid response teams.
- Monitoring and Evaluation (20%): Ensure timely collection and verification of project activity data, conduct monitoring visits to assess implementation quality, and contribute to donor reports and knowledge products, including lessons learned and success stories.
