Job Overview:
The Warehouse Keeper position is crucial for supporting the activities related to warehouse maintenance, as well as the reception, handling, storage, tracking, and shipping of goods. This role is essential for ensuring the effective implementation of high-quality programs that benefit impoverished and vulnerable populations. The Warehouse Keeper will contribute to ensuring that the goods entrusted to the organization by donors are stored in accordance with established standards, CRS regulations, and international and local accountability standards for the supply chain. The position requires a proactive approach to managing warehouse operations and maintaining compliance with all relevant guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Warehouse Keeper will be responsible for supporting the maintenance of storage facilities by conducting regular inspections and cleaning the premises. They will assist in preparing warehouses and storage areas for the reception and shipping of goods, as well as support loading and unloading operations. The role includes contributing to the preparation of necessary documentation related to the receipt, shipping, damages, losses, and disposal of goods, and organizing files in accordance with established standards. Additionally, the Warehouse Keeper will ensure that all inventory is accurately tracked and reported, maintaining a high level of organization and efficiency in warehouse operations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a secondary school diploma and/or vocational training. A minimum of one year of professional experience in a similar position is required. Recent graduates may also be considered for the role. Desired qualifications include knowledge and understanding of warehousing and inventory management practices, proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word, and adherence to ethical conduct in line with recognized professional and organizational codes of ethics. Strong communication and relationship management skills are essential, along with a proactive, resourceful, solution-oriented, and results-focused attitude.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes at least a secondary school diploma. Additional vocational training related to warehouse management or logistics is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates with relevant certifications in inventory management or supply chain operations will have an advantage.

Experience:
The position requires at least one year of relevant professional experience in a warehouse or inventory management role. Candidates with less experience may be considered if they demonstrate strong potential and relevant skills. Experience in humanitarian or development contexts is a plus, as it provides insight into the unique challenges faced in these environments.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization and with local stakeholders. Proficiency in Swahili is also required, as it is widely spoken in the region. Additional language skills may be considered an asset, particularly if they enhance communication with diverse communities.

Additional Notes:
This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities. The role may require travel up to 25% of the time, depending on operational needs.
