Job Overview:
The Protection Information Management Specialist (PIM) is a pivotal role within the Danish Refugee Council's protection program. This position is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of data collection and information management systems related to protection operations. The PIM Specialist will work closely with the Protection Manager, Protection Coordinator, and Protection Team Leaders to conduct both quantitative and qualitative data analysis, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the protection programming. The role involves the collection, storage, cleaning, and analysis of protection-related data, including field reports and databases, while ensuring compliance with DRC’s data security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security-policies" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security policies. The PIM Specialist will also play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of protection reports and assessments, thereby supporting evidence-based programming across the mission and the wider humanitarian response.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Protection Information Management Specialist include:

• Design and Implementation of Information Management Systems: Collaborate with the Protection Coordinator and Protection Manager to assess information needs and design data management systems tailored to the evolving challenges of the protection program.
• Data Management: Lead the development and maintenance of the PowerBI dashboard, oversee data cleaning processes, and conduct monthly data analyses to identify trends and gaps in protection services.
• Data Visualization: Generate dashboards and analytical reports for various protection and advocacy deliverables, ensuring that data is presented clearly and effectively.
• Capacity Development: Support the onboarding and training of DRC Protection field staff and local partners in data collection and management practices.
• Coordination and Representation: Act as DRC’s focal point for various reporting and coordination forums, representing the organization in relevant IM coordination meetings.
• Data Protection and Security: Ensure compliance with data management protocols and report any safety incidents or breaches of data security.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to global and location-specific safety rules and report any safety incidents to the appropriate teams.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in information management, with at least three years of experience in developing and managing information systems within an international non-governmental organization (INGO). A solid understanding of protection information management, including areas such as gender-based violence (GBV), child protection, and community-based protection, is highly desirable. The ideal candidate should demonstrate proficiency in various data collection methodologies, data analysis, and reporting, as well as possess strong communication and capacity-building skills. Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques, such as Power BI and Kobo, is essential, along with a good understanding of monitoring and evaluation processes.

Educational Background:
A university degree in Information Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required. Candidates with substantial work experience in similar roles may be considered even if their educational background does not strictly align with the specified fields. Educational qualifications that enhance planning and organizational skills will also be viewed favorably.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant work experience in information management, particularly within the context of protection programs in an INGO setting. Experience in data collection, analysis, and visualization, as well as familiarity with protection-related issues, is crucial for success in this role.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory. Proficiency in Bengali, also in both written and spoken forms, is required to effectively communicate with local stakeholders and partners.
