This position is responsible for overseeing multiple project SI/MEL teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, actionable data that aligns with organizational objectives and donor requirements. The Senior Director will establish and refine SI/MEL frameworks and tools, engage with partners, and strengthen the integration of surveillance, MEL, data management, and digital health systems. The role requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to share evidence and best practices, driving continuous improvement and organizational impact. The Senior Director will also provide business analytics to maintain and expand market share, representing FHI 360 as a thought leader in strategic information and data-driven program improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Director will navigate complex SI/MEL challenges, offering strategic direction and innovative solutions for portfolio-specific issues. Responsibilities include analyzing project performance, recommending actionable solutions, and fostering innovation to enhance effectiveness. The role involves strengthening institutional data governance and ensuring project data systems meet donor reporting standards. The Senior Director will engage with stakeholders to gather and share evidence, facilitate communication, and build partnerships. Management responsibilities include overseeing SI/MEL implementation, providing leadership to project teams, managing budgets, and ensuring programmatic quality. The Senior Director will also lead a team of technical experts, shape portfolio structure, and ensure appropriate staffing and technical support for SI/MEL activities across projects.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess comprehensive knowledge of project management principles and expertise in program implementation methodologies. Strong organizational leadership practices and a proven track record of driving innovation and achieving impactful outcomes are essential. The role requires expertise in strategic planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement, as well as a strong command of quantitative and qualitative methods, data visualization, and digital tools. Knowledge of global health and development programming, particularly in health security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security and infectious diseases, is also required.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s Degree or its international equivalent in fields such as Business Administration, International Development, Health, or a related area is required. A Master’s Degree or PhD in a relevant field is preferred and may substitute for years of experience. Candidates should have a strong educational background that supports the technical and strategic demands of the role.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in project management, with at least 8 years in leadership and line management roles. Candidates should have proven experience managing complex, strategic portfolios of programs/projects on a national or international scale, as well as significant experience working in non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in additional languages relevant to the regions of operation is considered a plus and may enhance a candidate's profile.
Additional Notes:
This position may require approximately 25% travel to engage with stakeholders and oversee project implementation. The role is based in a typical office environment, with the expectation of using a computer and other office productivity machinery. The compensation band for this position aligns with the US salary structure, with a base salary range of USD 155,000 - 180,000 annually.
