Job Overview: The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring that the NRC's programs are effectively monitored and evaluated to enhance their impact and efficiency. Additionally, the position involves capacity building and training of program and M&E staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively execute M&E plans.
Duties and Responsibilities: The M&E Coordinator will have a wide range of responsibilities, including:
Adhering to NRC policies, guidance, and procedures.
Supporting the development and implementation of M&E systems and tools.
Participating in program design and proposal discussions.
Assisting program staff in planning and executing M&E activities.
Compiling periodic quantitative output reports and ensuring timely reporting into the Global Online Reporting System (GORS).
Leading the preparation of analytical reports for donors and internal use.
Facilitating capacity-building initiatives and technical training for program and M&E staff.
Providing technical support to field teams and ensuring high-quality reporting.
Conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses for assessments and donor reporting. 1
Contributing to project and program planning processes and ensuring compliance with NRC’s Safe and Inclusive Programming guidelines.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in an international NGO, preferably in emergency or post-conflict settings, with a focus on M&E capacity and systems development. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as Statistics or Social Sciences is required, and a Post Graduate Diploma in M&E is considered an advantage. Candidates should have thorough knowledge of monitoring and evaluation principles and current approaches, as well as experience in facilitating capacity-building efforts for diverse colleagues, including local partner agencies. Strong analytical and computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and experience with statistical software such as SPSS, STATA, Epi Info, or R, are essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills, cultural awareness, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
