Job Overview:
The Driver position at DRC is crucial for facilitating transportation and logistics support for humanitarian operations within Ukraine, particularly in the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions. The primary responsibility of the Driver is to ensure safe and efficient transport for operations teams and field offices, which may involve business trips across various locations in Ukraine. The role requires a proactive approach to vehicle management, including regular inspections, maintenance coordination, and adherence to safety protocols. The Driver will be expected to maintain a high standard of vehicle cleanliness and functionality, ensuring that all necessary equipment such as logbooks, first aid kits, and fire extinguishers are present and in good condition. This position not only demands driving skills but also a commitment to following traffic laws and organizational policies, making it essential for the Driver to communicate effectively with Fleet Officers and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security Officers to address any vehicle-related issues promptly. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Driver's duties and responsibilities include:

• Carrying out daily vehicle driving duties and conducting thorough inspections of the vehicle in accordance with DRC's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Fleet Management.
• Ensuring that each vehicle is equipped with a Vehicle Logbook, First Aid Kit, and Fire Extinguisher at all times.
• Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicles, both inside and out, as needed.
• Reporting any accidents, damages, or defects to the vehicle to the Fleet Officer and Security Specialist, and completing the necessary Accident Report for further action.
• Checking and ensuring that Vehicle Logbooks are accurately completed and submitted.
• Ensuring proper parking of vehicles during the day and at night at the office parking area.
• Understanding and adhering to all traffic laws and regulations applicable in Ukraine and DRC's operational guidelines.
• Advising the Supply Chain Officer of any required vehicle services and maintenance at least three days in advance.
• Communicating effectively with Fleet Officers and Security Officers regarding vehicle status and operational needs. 1
• Monitoring fuel levels and organizing refueling as necessary. 1
• Submitting the completed Logbook to the Fleet Officer at the end of each working day. 1
• Being flexible and responsive to the operational needs of the organization, which may require working outside of standard hours or in varying conditions.

Required Qualifications:
To be considered for the Driver position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• A valid driver’s license in categories B and C is required, with category C being an advantage.
• A minimum of three years of driving experience is essential, preferably with international non-governmental organizations (INGOs).
• Fluency in the Ukrainian language is mandatory.
• Candidates must have an accident-free driving record for at least three years in a similar role.
• Knowledge of the technical characteristics of vehicles is required to ensure proper maintenance and operation.
• Basic computer literacy is necessary, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with the geographical area of operation is preferred to enhance navigation and logistics planning.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the Driver position includes a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional training or certifications related to vehicle operation, safety, and maintenance would be advantageous. Candidates with specialized training in logistics or transportation management may also be considered favorably.

Experience:
Candidates should possess at least three years of relevant driving experience, ideally within the context of humanitarian operations or with international non-governmental organizations. Experience in managing vehicle logistics, maintenance, and safety protocols is highly desirable, as is familiarity with the operational environment in Ukraine.

Languages:
Fluency in the Ukrainian language is mandatory for this position, as effective communication is crucial for operational success. Proficiency in English at level A1 is considered desirable but not essential, as the primary language of operation will be Ukrainian.

The position offers a contract length of three months, with a probationary period, and the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability. The role is classified as non-managerial and is based in Barvinkove. The anticipated start date for this position is August or September 202

• The salary and conditions will align with the Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for employees on national contracts, starting from EUR 970 gross per month, depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
