Job Overview:
This position involves providing technical consultancy to support the implementation of institutional strengthening strategies in the Putumayo department of Colombia. The consultant will work closely with local organizations to design, implement, and manage plans aimed at enhancing administrative, financial, and operational capacities. The role is crucial in fostering institutional development and ensuring that local entities can effectively contribute to community development and governance. The consultant will be expected to engage with stakeholders, assess needs, and tailor strategies that align with the specific context of Putumayo, ensuring that interventions are relevant and impactful.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with local organizations to assess their institutional needs and capacities.
  • Design and implement tailored strategies for institutional strengthening in accordance with the specific challenges faced by organizations in Putumayo.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of local staff.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented strategies, making adjustments as necessary to ensure objectives are met.
  • Prepare detailed reports on progress and outcomes of the consultancy, providing recommendations for future actions.
  • Engage with local stakeholders, including government entities, to foster collaboration and support for institutional development initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with UNDP policies and procedures throughout the consultancy process.

Required Qualifications:
  • A professional degree in economics, business administration, or public accounting.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing institutional strengthening plans.
  • Strong understanding of the local context in Putumayo and experience working with organizations in the region.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a professional degree in fields such as economics, business administration, or public accounting. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of institutional management and development.

Experience:
A minimum of thirty-six (36) months of specific experience in designing, implementing, and managing institutional strengthening plans is required. This experience should include working with organizations in the Putumayo department, demonstrating a solid understanding of the local challenges and opportunities.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory for this position, as all communications and documentation will be conducted in this language. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy is expected to last for a period of four months.
