Job Overview:
This position involves consulting on the update of the Antiretroviral Therapy Guide for Children and Adolescents, which includes reviewing regulations, updating technical content, and standardizing documentation in accordance with the guidelines set by the Ministry of Health and Sports in Bolivia. The consultant will be expected to engage in a comprehensive analysis of existing guidelines, identify gaps, and propose necessary updates to ensure that the guide reflects the latest scientific evidence and best practices in pediatric HIV treatment. The consultant will work closely with health professionals, stakeholders, and government officials to ensure that the updated guide is practical, accessible, and effectively addresses the needs of children and adolescents living with HIV. The assignment is expected to last for a period of 90 calendar days, during which the consultant will be required to deliver a series of reports and documentation as part of the consultancy process.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

• Conduct a thorough review of the existing Antiretroviral Therapy Guide for Children and Adolescents, identifying areas that require updates or revisions.
• Collaborate with health professionals and stakeholders to gather input and feedback on the current guidelines and proposed changes.
• Research and analyze the latest scientific literature and best practices in pediatric HIV treatment to inform the updates to the guide.
• Develop a comprehensive report outlining the proposed updates to the guide, including justifications for each change.
• Standardize documentation and ensure that all updates are in compliance with the regulations set forth by the Ministry of Health and Sports.
• Present findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders and incorporate their feedback into the final version of the guide.
• Ensure that the updated guide is user-friendly and accessible to healthcare providers working with children and adolescents living with HIV.
• Submit all deliverables in a timely manner, adhering to the deadlines established in the consultancy agreement.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this consultancy position should possess the following qualifications:

• A strong background in public health, medicine, or a related field, with a focus on infectious diseases, particularly HIV/AIDS.
• Proven experience in developing or updating clinical guidelines, protocols, or similar documents in the healthcare sector.
• Familiarity with the national health policies and regulations related to HIV treatment in Bolivia.
• Excellent analytical and research skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear and actionable recommendations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in both Spanish and English is essential, as the consultant will need to engage with local stakeholders and review international literature.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have at least a Master's degree in Public Health, Medicine, or a related field. A doctoral degree or specialized training in infectious diseases or pediatric medicine would be an advantage. Additionally, candidates should have completed relevant coursework or training in HIV/AIDS treatment and care.

Experience:
The consultant should have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in public health, with a specific focus on HIV/AIDS treatment and care. Experience working with children and adolescents in healthcare settings is highly desirable. Previous experience with UN agencies or similar international organizations would be beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the consultancy will involve working with local health authorities and stakeholders. Proficiency in English is also required to access international research and guidelines. Knowledge of indigenous languages spoken in Bolivia would be considered an asset.

Additional Notes:
This consultancy is for a fixed term of 90 days and is expected to be conducted on a full-time basis. The position is open to both national and international candidates. The consultant will be compensated according to UNDP's established rates for individual contractors.
