Job Overview:
The Senior Driver position at WFP involves providing transportation services to senior staff, high-ranking UN officials, and visitors, ensuring their safety and comfort during travel. The role requires not only driving but also planning and coordinating transport schedules, maintaining vehicle logs, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The Senior Driver will also assist with airport formalities for visitors and perform basic office tasks when necessary. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide safe and efficient transportation to senior WFP staff and UN officials, ensuring adherence to UN safety and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security protocols.
  • Plan and assign routes and schedules for other drivers to optimize transport services.
  • Meet and assist official personnel and visitors at airports, facilitating smooth entry and customs processes.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle log books and report mechanical issues to supervisors to ensure efficient vehicle operation.
  • Coordinate vehicle maintenance and ensure all travel authorizations and supplies are in order.
  • Follow established protocols for field deliveries and report any incidents or issues to supervisors promptly.
  • Perform basic office tasks such as filing and photocopying when required, providing administrative support to clients.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary school education and possess formal driver training with a valid driver’s license. A B and C/C1 driving license is mandatory, along with a demonstrated safe driving record. Knowledge of driving rules, local roads, and safety standards is essential. Candidates should also have a client-oriented approach, high sense of responsibility, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Educational Background:
The position requires a minimum of secondary school education. Formal training in driving and a valid driver’s license are essential. Additional certifications related to vehicle operation and safety may be beneficial.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least three years of work experience as a driver, preferably within an international organization, embassy, or UN system. Experience in driving vehicles with manual transmission and defensive driving is desirable. A proven track record of safe driving is crucial for this role.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Ukrainian is mandatory, with a proficiency level of C. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.
