Job Overview:
As a psychiatrist with MSF, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and refining treatment plans tailored to patients with mental health disorders. Your role will involve not only clinical responsibilities but also the coordination of activities and supervision of local staff involved in mental health and psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">psychosocial support. You will conduct individual consultations and lead group therapeutic activities, ensuring that your interventions are culturally sensitive and contextually appropriate. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Propose and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with mental health disorders.
• Conduct clinical consultations and organize therapeutic or psycho-educational group activities.
• Supervise and train locally recruited mental health professionals, ensuring they are equipped to provide effective care.
• Adapt therapeutic tools and interventions to align with local cultural contexts.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of mental health programs and make necessary adjustments.
• Engage in community outreach to raise awareness about mental health issues and available services.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall strategy of mental health services within MSF.

Required Qualifications:

• Must be a certified psychiatrist with an active medical license.
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience post-residency in a multidisciplinary setting.
• At least six months of clinical experience within the last two years.
• Professional experience in mental health issues related to at least two of the following: HIV/AIDS, PTSD, sexual violence, trauma, tuberculosis.
• Experience managing staff in a multicultural team, including supervision and training.
• Advanced-level fluency in English; French fluency is highly valued.
• Familiarity with additional languages such as Spanish, Arabic, or Portuguese is considered an asset.

Educational Background:
A medical degree in psychiatry is required, along with certification and an active license to practice. Continuous professional development in mental health and related fields is encouraged to stay updated with best practices and emerging trends in psychiatric care.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of two years of clinical experience in a relevant setting, with at least six months of experience within the last two years. Experience in humanitarian contexts, particularly in armed conflicts or public health emergencies, is highly desirable. Familiarity with the challenges faced by vulnerable populations, such as migrants and refugees, is also beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, while proficiency in French is highly valued. Knowledge of additional languages such as Spanish, Arabic, or Portuguese is considered an asset and may enhance communication with diverse patient populations.

Additional Notes:
The position requires a commitment to work in MSF international programs for a minimum of six to twelve months.
