Job Overview:
The Supply Logistician plays a crucial role in ensuring that medical and logistical supplies are available and delivered efficiently to various field operations. This position involves managing the supply chain, including procurement, storage, and distribution of goods. The Supply Logistician is expected to coordinate with various teams to assess needs, plan logistics, and implement supply strategies that align with MSF's operational goals. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances in challenging environments. The Supply Logistician will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and reports related to inventory and supply activities, ensuring compliance with MSF's policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the supply chain process from procurement to delivery, ensuring timely and efficient distribution of supplies.
  • Coordinate with medical and logistical teams to assess supply needs and develop procurement plans.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee stock management, including storage and handling of supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with MSF's logistics policies and procedures, including safety and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular audits of supplies and equipment to ensure accountability and traceability.
  • Provide training and support to local staff on logistics and supply chain management.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that logistical needs are met for ongoing and new projects.
  • Prepare reports on supply activities and present findings to management.
  • Participate in emergency response efforts as needed, adapting logistics strategies to meet urgent needs.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in logistics and supply chain management, preferably in a humanitarian or emergency context.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural team.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and inventory management best practices.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in logistics or supply chain management are a plus.

Experience:
A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in logistics or supply chain management is required. Experience working in a humanitarian context or with international organizations is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, as the position requires communication with local teams and stakeholders. Proficiency in English is an advantage but not required.

Additional Notes:
This position is full-time and may require travel to remote locations. The contract duration is typically for a fixed term, with the possibility of extension based on performance and operational needs.
