Job Overview:
The position of Roster of Engineers on Circular Economy (CE) Technologies and Facilities is designed to support UNDP's initiatives in promoting sustainable practices through circular economy principles. The role involves working on various projects that aim to implement CE technologies and facilities, which are essential for reducing waste and enhancing resource efficiency. Engineers in this roster will be expected to contribute their expertise in designing, implementing, and evaluating CE projects, ensuring that they align with UNDP's goals of sustainability and environmental protection. The position offers flexibility as it allows for both remote and on-site work, catering to the needs of the projects and the engineers involved. The initial contract is for one year, with the possibility of extension for up to two additional years, depending on project requirements and performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with project teams to design and implement circular economy technologies and facilities that meet project objectives.
• Conduct assessments and evaluations of existing systems to identify opportunities for improvement and integration of CE principles.
• Provide technical expertise in the development of project proposals, including feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses.
• Engage with stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector partners, and community organizations, to promote CE initiatives.
• Monitor and report on project progress, ensuring compliance with UNDP standards and guidelines.
• Develop training materials and conduct workshops to build capacity among local stakeholders on CE practices.
• Stay updated on the latest trends and innovations in circular economy technologies and share knowledge with the team.
• Contribute to the preparation of technical reports and presentations for various audiences, including donors and partners.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience in engineering, particularly in the field of circular economy technologies and sustainable development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex systems and propose innovative solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, with a track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Familiarity with UNDP's mission and values, as well as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field is required. A master's degree or higher qualification in a relevant discipline will be considered an advantage. Additional certifications in project management or sustainable development practices are also beneficial.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in engineering, with a focus on circular economy practices and technologies. Experience working with international organizations or in a development context is highly desirable. Proven track record of managing projects from inception to completion, including stakeholder engagement and reporting, is essential.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within UNDP and for project documentation. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly those relevant to the local context in the Philippines, would be considered an asset and beneficial for stakeholder engagement.

The position is classified as an Individual Consultant under a Long-term Agreement, which allows for flexibility in contract duration and scope of work.
