Job Overview:
The National Consultant for the BIOFIN CSR Framework will play a crucial role in developing and implementing a comprehensive framework that integrates Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) into the Biodiversity Finance Initiative (BIOFIN). This position requires a deep understanding of both biodiversity conservation and corporate engagement strategies. The consultant will be expected to conduct thorough assessments of current CSR practices among corporations in Egypt, identify gaps, and propose actionable strategies to enhance corporate contributions to biodiversity conservation. The consultant will also be responsible for engaging with stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and the private sector, to foster collaboration and ensure the successful implementation of the CSR framework. This role is pivotal in aligning corporate actions with national biodiversity goals and promoting sustainable business practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis of existing CSR practices in Egypt, focusing on their impact on biodiversity conservation.
  • Develop a tailored CSR framework that aligns with the BIOFIN objectives and national biodiversity strategies.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including businesses, government entities, and civil society organizations, to gather insights and foster partnerships.
  • Organize workshops and meetings to present findings and gather feedback on the proposed CSR framework.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing research findings, stakeholder feedback, and recommendations for implementation.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the CSR framework post-implementation, making adjustments as necessary based on feedback and outcomes.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to corporations in implementing CSR initiatives that benefit biodiversity.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven expertise in biodiversity conservation, corporate social responsibility, or related fields.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess and synthesize complex information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in stakeholder engagement.
  • Familiarity with the UNDP and its operational frameworks is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively under tight deadlines.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in Environmental Science, Business Administration, Sustainable Development, or a related field is required. A PhD in a relevant discipline would be an asset.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in biodiversity conservation, corporate social responsibility, or related fields is required. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the context of UNDP projects, is highly desirable. Proven track record of developing and implementing frameworks or strategies in a corporate or governmental context is essential.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable, as it will facilitate communication with local stakeholders and enhance the effectiveness of the consultant's work.

Additional Notes:
This position is for a fixed-term contract lasting four months (16 weeks), with a total of 80 working days. The consultant will be expected to work remotely, with potential travel to meet stakeholders as necessary. The position is open to both national and international applicants, and compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
