Job Overview: The Analyst position at the EBRD Resident Office in Astana is a critical role that supports the Bank’s infrastructure operations in Kazakhstan and the broader Central Asian region. The Analyst will be involved in all phases of the project cycle, which includes project origination, structuring, execution, implementation, and monitoring. This position requires a proactive approach to project management, where the Analyst will be responsible for tasks assigned by the operation leader or senior bankers. The role emphasizes comprehensive due diligence, ensuring compliance with EBRD policies, and effective post-signing implementation. The Analyst will work closely with project teams, contributing to the structuring, implementation, and monitoring of debt and equity transactions, while focusing on research, data gathering, credit analysis, and financial modeling. Duties and Responsibilities: The Analyst will undertake a variety of responsibilities under the guidance of the operation leader or a more senior banker. Key duties include:
Participating as a project team member on transactions, contributing to project structuring and execution through comprehensive research and analysis of background materials, market information, and financial performance data.
Analyzing potential risks associated with proposed projects, including financial statement analysis and the preparation of financial models and projections.
Assisting in the design and processing of technical cooperation assistance, including preparing terms of reference and internal approval documentation.
Communicating with internal units of the Bank, clients, and stakeholders, preparing draft correspondence and presentations, and following up on internal communications.
Ensuring timely completion of all assigned tasks to a high standard, in line with the Bank’s policies and objectives.
Monitoring project implementation and compliance with agreements, preparing draft monitoring reports with recommendations for corrective actions as necessary.
Assisting with the effective implementation and monitoring of technical cooperation assignments, including communication with clients and preparation of progress reports. The Analyst's responsibilities are designed to evolve, allowing for increased complexity and scope based on experience and expertise.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in relevant fields. Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are desirable. Strong quantitative and numerical skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret financial information and design financial models. Candidates should have credit analysis skills, understanding local and international accounting principles, and practices related to credit analysis. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and spreadsheet software, particularly for financial analysis and modeling, is required.
