Job Overview: The position of Architectural Infrastructure Engineer is crucial for analyzing and conceptualizing architectural solutions. The role involves ensuring that architectural and design products align with contractual scopes, design guidelines, functional requirements, applicable regulations, sustainability criteria, and UNOPS quality standards. The engineer will work closely with project managers and specialists to verify that deliverables such as conceptual designs, technical master plans, and contracting documents meet the approved scope and quality requirements. This position requires a strong understanding of architectural concepts and the ability to interpret rules and procedures to make recommendations that ensure project objectives are met efficiently, particularly in internationally financed projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Review architectural and functional products developed by internal or external designers to ensure compliance with contractual scope and quality standards.
Provide technical follow-up on deliverables for conceptual designs, technical master plans, and associated technical documents.
Develop deliverable review matrices and technical acceptance recommendations.
Identify deviations or inconsistencies in design products and propose corrective measures.
Support management in technical review meetings with designers and stakeholders.
Verify the consistency of functional programs with design guidelines and institutional requirements.
Evaluate the functional quality of proposed solutions, including spatial efficiency and user experience.
Document technical observations and recommendations for improving architectural products.
Ensure interdisciplinary coordination and identify risks between architecture and other disciplines. 1
Maintain technical records of observations and decisions made during product reviews. 1
Prepare various technical reports required by the management team.
Required Qualifications:
Higher university degree equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Architecture.
Current membership in the Sudanese Architects association.
Specialization or certification in project management, BIM, sustainability, or workplace design is desired.
Proven proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, including the ability to review technical documentation and design deliverables.
Knowledge of applicable regulations in Sudan related to construction and accessibility is preferred.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a higher university degree equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Architecture. Additionally, current membership in the Sudanese Architects association is required. Desired qualifications include specialization or certification in project management, BIM, sustainability applied to infrastructure, workplace design, or LEED certification.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in architecture, design, or technical coordination of infrastructure projects is required. Candidates should have proven experience in construction projects, including offices, public buildings, and mixed-use developments. Experience in reviewing and coordinating design products developed by designers is essential, along with proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
Languages: Fluency in English and Arabic is required for this position. Candidates must demonstrate strong communication skills in both languages to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
