Job Overview:
The position of Manager/Senior Manager - Lead Exposure at WJCF involves serving as a core member of the Technical Support Unit (TSU) embedded within the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC). The incumbent will be responsible for providing technical, coordination, and secretariat support to government counterparts, translating high-level intentions into structured operational work plans. This role requires navigating a complex multi-stakeholder environment while ensuring operational discipline for consistent follow-through. The individual will report to the Associate Director and work under the programmatic guidance of NCDC for TSU activities, focusing on lead poisoning, which is a significant public health challenge in India. The position is based in New Delhi and may require domestic travel to various program states.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Manager/Senior Manager include providing day-to-day secretariat support to NCDC for the National Biomonitoring Programme for Chemical Toxicants (NBPCT), preparing meeting agendas, data-backed work plans, and activity plans. The incumbent will support the National Lead Technical Working Group by synthesizing data, providing expert inputs, and ensuring follow-up mechanisms convert discussions into actionable outcomes. They will facilitate sub-working groups on laboratory surveillance and diagnostics, integrate state and laboratory surveillance data into the Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP), and strengthen NCDC's capacity for data-driven decision-making. Additionally, the role involves managing embedded teams, developing costed annual work plans, preparing high-quality progress reports, and leading WJCF's engagement in focal states while aligning activities with state health departments. The incumbent will also build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders, including government officials and development partners, and represent WJCF in national and state-level forums.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a postgraduate degree in environmental health, public health, public policy, health management, development studies, biochemistry, or a related field. A minimum of 7–10 years of relevant experience is required, with demonstrated experience working directly with national-level government institutions such as MoHFW, NCDC, or equivalent ministries. Proven experience in managing multi-stakeholder coordination and strong analytical capabilities are essential. The ability to synthesize epidemiological evidence and prepare high-quality written outputs is crucial. Experience in preparing donor reports and strategic planning documents is also required. An entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to work independently in ambiguous environments are preferred.
Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a postgraduate degree in fields related to environmental health, public health, public policy, health management, development studies, or biochemistry.
