Job Overview:
The Communications Officer position at UNDP Myanmar is pivotal in enhancing the visibility and storytelling of the organization's programs. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Communications Officer will undertake a variety of duties, including:
  • Supporting the implementation of communication and visibility activities aligned with program priorities.
  • Drafting and editing communication materials for diverse audiences, including social media content, web stories, and presentations.
  • Managing social media platforms, including content scheduling, publishing, and performance monitoring.
  • Developing engaging content tailored to different platforms and audiences, ensuring alignment with branding and visibility standards.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of websites and digital platforms using content management systems.
  • Coordinating with program teams to ensure timely delivery of communication products.
  • Creating multimedia content that highlights program results and community perspectives.
  • Translating communication materials between Myanmar and English as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (Bachelor's degree) combined with two additional years of relevant experience will be considered. The role requires a minimum of two years of relevant work experience with a master's degree or four years with a bachelor's degree in communications, media, public information, or related areas. Experience in copywriting, content development, and managing social media platforms is essential, along with proficiency in using design tools like Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree in relevant fields such as Communications, Journalism, or Social Sciences. Candidates with a bachelor's degree in these areas, coupled with significant relevant experience, may also be considered. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of communication in development contexts and for effectively engaging with diverse audiences.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience for candidates with a master's degree or four years for those with a bachelor's degree.
