Job Overview:
The People and Culture Associate, GS6, will play a crucial role in providing technical and process support within the Human Resources Administration Services (RAS) stream. This position is focused on business process improvement, knowledge sharing, technical and process training, and engagement with key stakeholders. The associate will work closely with HR teams, business process owners, technical teams, and partner units to ensure accurate, timely, and client-focused service delivery. The role requires a commitment to operational efficiency and service excellence, ensuring compliance with UNICEF HR rules and regulations. The associate will be involved in various functions including project and technical support, knowledge sharing and training, and partnership with stakeholders, contributing to the overall effectiveness of HR administration services.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the People and Culture Associate include:
  • Providing process support for Recruitment Administration Services (RAS) to ensure compliance and efficiency in HR functions.
  • Supporting business process improvements and systems coordination to enhance service delivery.
  • Engaging in knowledge management and quality assurance activities to maintain high standards in HR administration.
  • Conducting technical and process training initiatives for HR staff and stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with multiple stakeholders to facilitate accurate and timely service delivery.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Participating in project planning and execution related to HR initiatives.
  • Contributing to the creation of documentation and reports related to HR processes and improvements.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of six years of relevant work experience in human resources. A completed BA degree from an accredited institution qualifies as three years of experience and will be counted towards the minimum work experience requirement. Candidates holding a bachelor’s degree in relevant fields must have at least two years of relevant experience. A master’s degree will be considered with an additional two years of relevant work experience. Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint) is required, along with strong computer literacy and the ability to effectively use standard office software tools. A good understanding of human resources management principles and the ability to conduct research and make recommendations is essential.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is the completion of secondary education (high school diploma). Professional and/or university courses in human resource management, business management, international relations, psychology, or a related field are considered an asset. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in relevant fields will have an advantage in meeting the experience requirements.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of six years of relevant work experience in human resources. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree will have three years of experience counted towards this requirement, while those with a master’s degree will need an additional two years of relevant work experience. This ensures that candidates have a solid foundation in HR practices and can effectively contribute to the role.

Languages:
Fluency in both verbal and written English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of an additional UN language such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate in a diverse work environment.
