Job Overview:
The UN DPO Information Management Intern position is designed for individuals seeking to gain practical experience in data processing, automation, and information management within a global organization. The internship is flexible, allowing for remote, hybrid, or in-person work arrangements at the UN premises in New York. Interns will engage in various tasks that support the UN's mission, including exploring the use of generative AI tools, conducting statistical analyses, and designing data-driven reports. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates who are passionate about the UN's ideals and eager to contribute to meaningful projects that enhance data management and visualization capabilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will assist in exploring generative AI tools to support data processing and information management tasks. Responsibilities include conducting statistical analyses of data sets, preparing infographics and PowerPoint presentations, and designing data-driven reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI. Interns will also develop data collection applications using the Microsoft O365 suite, including SharePoint, PowerApps, Flow (Power Automate), and MS SQL. Additionally, they will support the development of prototypes or proof-of-concept applications that incorporate generative AI capabilities, assist in creating technical documentation, and perform other duties as required to support the team's objectives.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for the internship, applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate program (second university degree or equivalent) or be in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level). While professional work experience is not required, a field of study closely related to the internship is necessary. Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in standard word processing and software applications, as well as a keen interest in the UN's work and a commitment to its ideals. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds are essential.

Educational Background:
Candidates must be pursuing or have completed a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. program. The educational background should be relevant to the internship's focus on information management, data analysis, or related fields. Proof of enrollment or completion of the degree program must be provided during the application process.

Experience:
While no prior professional work experience is required for this internship, candidates should have relevant academic experience or coursework that aligns with the responsibilities of the position. Languages:
Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship, as English is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Additional Notes:
The internship is unpaid and can be either full-time (35 hours per week) or part-time (20 hours per week).
