Job Overview:
The Team Leader position is crucial for overseeing an upcoming project funded by the FCDO, aimed at mitigating conflict-driven mortality, morbidity, and protection risks. The project will enable vulnerable populations to access lifesaving, multi-sector humanitarian assistance in a challenging operational environment. The Team Leader will be responsible for the overall management of the project, ensuring that interventions align with the program's outcomes. This includes overseeing the design and implementation of integrated humanitarian assistance across various sectors such as security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Food Security, Multi-purpose Cash Assistance, Health, Nutrition, WASH, and Protection. The role requires strong project and budget management skills, as well as the ability to maintain effective relationships with consortium partners and stakeholders. The Team Leader will also ensure that monitoring results and lessons learned are integrated into program implementation, promoting adaptive management principles.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Team Leader will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:

• Leading the overall program and ensuring accountability for delivering interventions aligned with program outcomes.
• Overseeing the design and implementation of integrated humanitarian assistance across multiple sectors.
• Managing the project budget and ensuring value for money across all program components.
• Maintaining strong working relationships with consortium partners and stakeholders.
• Serving as the primary point of contact with FCDO and ensuring compliance with their requirements.
• Ensuring that monitoring and evaluation results inform program implementation through adaptive management.
• Providing technical oversight to ensure conflict-sensitive, climate-adaptive, and inclusive approaches are utilized.
• Overseeing procurement, logistical, and administrative functions related to the project.
• Managing program staff and fostering a collaborative work environment. 1
• Ensuring effective communication and knowledge management internally and externally to share achievements and lessons learned.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree (Masters level or above) and have at least 10 years of experience in international development, specifically in two or more of the program sectors such as Health, Nutrition, WASH, Protection, or Livelihoods, particularly in fragile and conflict-affected states. A minimum of 10 years of experience managing large-scale, complex, multi-partner projects with substantial budgets is required. Proven leadership skills and the ability to provide strategic direction while leveraging the skills of technical personnel and consortium partners are essential. Familiarity with humanitarian assistance issues, particularly FCDO's priorities, is necessary, along with experience in adaptive management and evidence-based programming. Strong analytical, communication, and writing skills are also required, as well as the ability to build effective partnerships across diverse stakeholder groups.

Educational Background:
An advanced degree (Masters level or above) is required for this position, reflecting the need for a high level of expertise and knowledge in relevant fields related to international development and humanitarian assistance.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in international development, particularly in managing large-scale projects in fragile and conflict-affected environments. Experience with multi-partner projects and familiarity with FCDO accountable grants is highly desirable. The ability to navigate complex and high-risk environments while managing stakeholder needs is crucial for success in this role.

Languages:
Fluency in both Arabic and English is mandatory for this position, as effective communication in these languages is essential for collaboration with local communities and stakeholders. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.

Additional Notes:
This position is contingent on the outcome of the funding bid. The project is expected to run from October 2026 for a duration of 2.5 years.
