Job Overview:
In this role, you will report directly to the Field Coordinator and be responsible for ensuring the quality and relevance of all activities related to Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (SMSP) in Mongbwalu. Your primary responsibilities will include coordinating all SMSP activities, identifying and implementing quality, relevant, and innovative SMSP interventions in accordance with ACF standards, international guidelines, and national policies. You will contribute to strategic discussions and positioning of the SMSP department in the intervention area, identify needs, and assist in project formulation. Additionally, you will oversee the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of SMSP projects, contribute to quality assurance processes, and measure the program's impact. You will also participate in coordination, representation, and partnerships for ACF in your intervention area, manage a team of 10 SMSP staff, and contribute to technical development within the sector. Upon starting, your immediate priorities will include establishing the necessary conditions for the effective launch of activities, which will involve operational planning, resource allocation, procurement, team recruitment and training, and community consultations with local authorities to ensure rapid and quality implementation of interventions.

Your duties will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: contributing to strategic reflections on the SMSP department's positioning in the intervention area; identifying needs and assisting in project formulation; ensuring the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of SMSP projects; contributing to quality assurance processes and accountability measures; participating in coordination and representation efforts for ACF; managing and supervising the SMSP team of 10 individuals; contributing to the capitalization and technical development within the sector; ensuring confidentiality of data collected during SMSP activities; and establishing operational plans, resource allocation, and community consultations to facilitate effective project implementation.
Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, you must hold a Master’s degree in clinical psychology and psychopathology. You should have at least two years of experience as a psychologist or psychiatrist, with a background in psychological care for trauma and psychological distress. Additionally, you should possess at least one year of experience in international solidarity, including project management in humanitarian and/or development sectors related to SMSP. Strong managerial skills for remote teams are essential, along with excellent written and oral communication skills in French. You should be adaptable to complex security situations, and prior experience with Action Contre la Faim will be considered an asset.
Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position is a Master’s degree (Master 2) in clinical psychology and psychopathology. This advanced degree is essential for understanding the complexities of mental health and psychosocial support, particularly in humanitarian contexts.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of professional experience as a psychologist or psychiatrist, with a focus on psychological care for trauma and distress. Additionally, candidates should have at least one year of experience in the international solidarity sector, specifically in managing humanitarian or development projects related to mental health and psychosocial support.
Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, both written and spoken. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered advantageous, particularly in the context of working in diverse communities and with international teams.
Additional Notes:
This position is subject to budgetary validation. Vaccination against Mpox is recommended for employees traveling to the country. The contract is a fixed-term contract under French law for six months. The gross monthly salary ranges from 2130 to 2406 euros, depending on experience, and includes a 13th month payment. Non-French citizens will receive a retirement insurance reimbursement of 16% of their gross monthly salary. There is a 6% increase in base salary every 12 months of continuous contract. Monthly per diem and living expenses amount to $1105 net, paid on the ground, along with a monthly contextual allowance of 450 euros. An annual child allowance of 1500 euros per child is provided, with a maximum of 6000 euros per year. Transportation and accommodation costs are covered, and medical coverage includes 100% reimbursement of health insurance and repatriation costs, as well as medical expenses for up to one month after the end of the contract. Salary maintenance provisions are in place for illness, maternity, and paternity. Employees are entitled to 25 days of annual leave and 20 rest and recuperation days per year, with travel expenses covered for breaks. A fixed allowance of 215 euros is provided for each RnR.
