Job Overview:
The position of Asociado Psicosocial is integral to the project aimed at strengthening the socioeconomic reintegration route for individuals in the process of reintegration and their communities in Colombia. This role is focused on promoting reconciliation, social inclusion, and economic sustainability through various components. Specifically, the project component (vii) aims to strengthen community processes that enhance the autonomy of peace signatories. By 2026, the project will support 10 social and community initiatives from reintegrating collectives, contributing to peace processes and the fulfillment of the Comprehensive Reintegration Program as part of the Promotion Strategy. The implementation of this strategy requires a dedicated team to provide technical, methodological, and logistical support in formulating, implementing, and monitoring agreements between the counterpart and the UNDP, ensuring proper coordination with national and territorial technical teams. The Asociado Psicosocial will be responsible for supporting projects related to social, political, and community reintegration, with the duty station located in Cúcuta, Norte de Santander, from where they will conduct necessary visits to organizations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Asociado Psicosocial will be responsible for providing technical and psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">psychosocial support to beneficiary organizations of the Low-Value Grant Agreements. This includes assisting in the formulation and management of required documents for project implementation, offering guidance and assistance in completing forms, reports, and deliverables, and conducting follow-up visits to verify the progress of activities while providing timely guidance. The role also involves participating in working groups, meetings, and committees for monitoring and reporting on progress, as well as supporting the technical and administrative team in necessary actions to ensure the achievement of objectives, results, and commitments established within the project framework.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong technical skills in psychosocial support and community engagement, with a proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. They should demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and have a solid understanding of the socio-political context in Colombia, particularly regarding peacebuilding and reintegration processes. Additionally, candidates should exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in social sciences, psychology, sociology, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or specialized training in psychosocial support, community development, or conflict resolution will be considered an asset.
Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of three years of relevant experience in psychosocial support, community engagement, or related fields. Experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly in post-conflict settings, is highly desirable. Familiarity with the UN system and its operational protocols will be an advantage.
Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication in the region. Proficiency in English is considered a valuable asset, as it may facilitate communication with international stakeholders and enhance the candidate's effectiveness in the role.

The position is based in Cúcuta, Colombia, which offers well-developed urban conditions, access to public services, high-quality healthcare infrastructure, banking services, stable digital connectivity, and a wide range of accommodation and transportation options. The role may require frequent missions to the Catatumbo area, primarily accessible by land from Cúcuta. The municipalities in this region provide basic services, functional accommodation, and variable connectivity depending on the rural areas visited. Activities in the field may involve land travel to rural areas under changing logistical conditions. The territorial context presents complex social dynamics associated with historical armed conflict processes. All missions will adhere to the United Nations security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security protocols and ongoing institutional coordination. This assignment offers a significant professional opportunity to contribute to peacebuilding processes, requiring adaptability, cultural sensitivity, and a willingness to work in demanding operational environments. The contract duration is as indicated above, with the possibility of extensions subject to funding availability, operational needs, and satisfactory performance. However, renewal of the assignment is not anticipated. A monthly living allowance of COP 4,866,000 is provided to cover housing, services, and ordinary living expenses. Life, health, and permanent disability insurance, as well as final repatriation (if applicable), are included. As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for securing their own housing and other essentials for subsistence.
