Job Overview:
The Admin and Finance Assistant UNV position is crucial for supporting the effective implementation of UNFPA initiatives in Pakistan. The selected candidate will work under the direct supervision of the Finance Associate and will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting of expenses, and managing data inputs for financial reporting. This role is integral to the operations team and involves providing logistical support, facilitating communication with partners, and ensuring the timely submission of reports. The Admin and Finance Assistant will contribute to the efficient operation of thematic initiatives and reinforce UNFPA's commitment to sustainable development and improved well-being for all. The position is designed for an interim one-year period, emphasizing the importance of collaboration with government institutions and other stakeholders to address population and development challenges effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Admin and Finance Assistant will undertake a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: ensuring adherence to UNFPA financial rules and proposing improvements for internal controls; assisting in managing the country office budget, including formulation, controlling allotments, monitoring expenditures, and preparing necessary revisions; supporting the monitoring of program financial performance by providing relevant financial information and analysis; identifying potential over/under expenditure issues and proposing remedial actions; reviewing materials related to common services, premises, cost recovery, privileges and immunities, entitlement and salary surveys, and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security; overseeing the management of UNFPA assets and facilities; supporting the implementation of corporate systems and applications that support finance and country office operations; reconciling ticket costs to be paid to travel agents based on supporting documents and applying the cancellation policy; compiling invoices and supporting documents for payment submissions; following up on timely releases of payments to travel service providers; maintaining an updated travel database for monitoring purposes; ensuring all pending obligations towards travel companies are reviewed and reconciled; maintaining all travel-related files for audit purposes; and performing any other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor or senior management.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Admin and Finance Assistant position should possess strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, be accountable, and demonstrate a commitment to achieving results and ensuring program quality and impact. They should have developed professional expertise and business acumen, be able to work effectively in teams, and manage relationships. Excellent communication skills are essential for conveying information effectively and for impact.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field is required for this position. Candidates with additional certifications in finance or accounting will be considered favorably. A solid understanding of financial management principles and practices is essential.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least 1-2 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or administrative roles, preferably within an international organization or a non-governmental organization (NGO). Experience in managing budgets, financial reporting, and compliance with financial regulations is highly desirable. Familiarity with UNFPA's mission and objectives, as well as experience working in a multicultural environment, will be an advantage.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Proficiency in Urdu or other local languages is considered an asset, as it will facilitate communication with local partners and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This is a national UNV assignment, and the selected volunteer will be responsible for arranging their own housing and other living essentials. The UNV Field Unit will assist in opening a local bank account for the volunteer. A Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) of PKR 105,091 is provided monthly to cover housing, utilities, and normal living expenses. The position includes life health and permanent disability insurance, health insurance for up to three dependents, and a final repatriation allowance if applicable. The assignment is for a one-year period, with the possibility of extension based on performance and organizational needs.
