Job Overview:
The Donor Relations Officer will play a crucial role in UNICEF Bangladesh's Partnerships Unit, which has been established to enhance the organization's capacity to raise and manage funds, particularly in response to the Rohingya crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic. This position is vital for ensuring that UNICEF can meet its funding needs and deliver quality services to children and families. The officer will work closely with various teams to ensure that donor proposals, reports, and other documents meet high standards and align with donor expectations. The role requires a strong focus on quality donor reporting and grant management, which are essential for maintaining funding for humanitarian and development programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Donor Relations Officer will be responsible for updating and maintaining donor and program reporting requirements, providing regular updates to section chiefs and field offices, and ensuring timely submission of proposals and reports. The officer will prepare high-quality concept notes and funding proposals, ensuring adherence to donor requirements. Quality assurance of proposals and reports will be a key duty, including gathering information, editing, and branding. The officer will also ensure compliance with donor reporting SOPs, manage documentation in SharePoint, and collaborate with the External Communications section for visibility requirements. Additional responsibilities include monitoring fund utilization, conducting research on donors, preparing briefing notes for donor meetings, coordinating donor engagements, and providing training to staff and partners.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong analytical skills, the ability to persuade and influence, and entrepreneurial thinking. They should demonstrate self-awareness and ethical awareness, work collaboratively, build and maintain partnerships, and embrace change. The role requires strategic thinking and the ability to manage ambiguity and complexity while driving impactful results.
Educational Background:
A relevant degree in international relations, development studies, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees may be preferred, depending on the level of the position and the specific requirements of UNICEF.
Experience:
Candidates should have a proven track record in donor relations, resource mobilization, or a related field. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in humanitarian contexts, is highly desirable. Familiarity with UNICEF's mission and objectives will be an advantage.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of Bengali is highly desirable. Additional languages may be beneficial, depending on the donor base and the regions served by UNICEF.

This position is based in Dhaka, with responsibilities that may extend to Cox's Bazar.
