Job Overview:
The position is for a National Consultancy focused on training young people in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Tools. The primary objective of this consultancy is to design, prepare, and deliver training sessions aimed at enhancing digital skills among youth, particularly targeting NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) youth and young women. This initiative is part of the YouthConnekt Cabo Verde Project, which seeks to improve employability and participation in the digital economy. The consultant will be responsible for creating a comprehensive training program that addresses the specific needs of the target group, ensuring that the content is relevant and accessible. The training sessions will not only cover theoretical aspects of artificial intelligence and digital tools but also provide practical applications to empower participants in their career pursuits. The consultant will work closely with local stakeholders to ensure the training aligns with the current job market demands and technological advancements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will have several key responsibilities, including:

• Conducting a needs assessment to identify the specific training requirements of NEET youth and young women in Cabo Verde.
• Designing a detailed training curriculum that covers essential topics in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Tools, ensuring it is tailored to the participants' skill levels.
• Preparing training materials, including presentations, handouts, and practical exercises that facilitate learning.
• Delivering engaging and interactive training sessions that encourage participation and foster a supportive learning environment.
• Evaluating the effectiveness of the training program through feedback from participants and making necessary adjustments to improve future sessions.
• Collaborating with local organizations and stakeholders to promote the training program and ensure maximum outreach.
• Providing ongoing support and mentorship to participants post-training to help them apply their new skills in real-world scenarios.
• Reporting on the progress and outcomes of the training sessions to UNDP and other relevant stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this consultancy position should possess the following qualifications:

• Proven expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Tools, with a strong understanding of current trends and technologies in the field.
• Experience in designing and delivering training programs, particularly for youth or marginalized groups.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate participants.
• Familiarity with the local context in Cabo Verde, including the challenges faced by NEET youth and young women.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations.
• Proficiency in using digital platforms and tools for training delivery and engagement.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Education, or a related discipline is required. A Master's degree or additional certifications in Artificial Intelligence or Digital Education would be an advantage. The educational background should reflect a strong foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical application of digital technologies.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 3-5 years of relevant experience in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Tools, or related areas. Experience working with youth, particularly in training or educational settings, is highly desirable. Familiarity with the socio-economic context of Cabo Verde and previous work with international organizations or NGOs will be considered an asset.

Languages:
Fluency in Portuguese is mandatory, as it is the official language of Cabo Verde. Proficiency in English is also highly desirable, as it may be necessary for communication with international stakeholders. Knowledge of local languages or dialects would be beneficial in engaging with participants effectively.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy assignment is expected to last for 40 working days. This position is open to national consultants only, and applications are encouraged from qualified women and professionals from all islands of Cabo Verde. The proposal must be submitted directly through the UNDP supplier portal by the specified deadline. The consultancy is part-time, and the consultant will be expected to manage their schedule to accommodate the training sessions and related activities. Compensation details will be provided upon selection, and the consultant will be expected to adhere to UNDP's policies and guidelines throughout the assignment.
