Job Overview: The Project Associate - Integration will work under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and direct supervision of the Senior Integration Associate. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the project aimed at assisting Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection (BOTP’s) in Ireland. This role focuses on facilitating the integration of BOTP’s into independent living by promoting access to support services, language provision, and individualized assistance. The position involves implementing and monitoring project activities, compiling and analyzing data, and supporting the development of integration strategies. The Project Associate will also coordinate administrative tasks related to project implementation, draft reports and correspondence, and liaise with various stakeholders including local authorities, partners, and other organizations. The role requires participation in meetings and conferences, as well as providing guidance and training to new or junior staff members.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Project Associate include:
Assisting in the implementation and monitoring of project activities related to the integration of BOTP’s.
Retrieving, compiling, summarizing, analyzing, and presenting information/data on specific project topics.
Supporting the Senior Integration Associate in developing and implementing the integration strategy through research and additional support.
Developing referral pathways and mapping information of stakeholders to support project objectives.
Acting as the focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation, which involves extensive liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties.
Drafting status reports, identifying shortfalls in delivery, and suggesting remedial actions.
Preparing and updating reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, and other documentation.
Responding to complex information requests and inquiries, maintaining files/records, and organizing meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
Participating in meetings and conferences, and assisting in coordinating implementation activities with relevant stakeholders. 1
Monitoring the work of implementing partners and reporting non-compliances to the supervisor. 1
Providing guidance and training to new or junior staff members. 1
Performing other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the Project Associate position include:
A school diploma with five years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience.
Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies, and non-governmental organizations.
Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking, and other vulnerable groups.
Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations or in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
In-depth knowledge of migration-related subject areas and familiarity with UN and bilateral donor programming, as well as financial rules and regulations.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess either a school diploma with five years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, or Law from an accredited institution. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have relevant professional experience, specifically three years for those with a Bachelor’s degree or five years for those with a school diploma. Experience should include liaising with governmental authorities and working with vulnerable groups such as migrants and refugees. Prior experience with international humanitarian organizations is considered an advantage, particularly in a multi-cultural setting.
Languages: Fluency in English is required for this position, both oral and written. All IOM staff members must be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages, which include English, French, and Spanish. Proficiency in additional languages may be evaluated during the selection process, which could include written and/or oral assessments.
