Job Overview:
The IOM Caseworker position involves working directly with migrants to assess their needs and provide appropriate support and services. The role requires a deep understanding of migration issues, including legal, social, and psychological aspects. The Caseworker will be responsible for conducting interviews, developing case plans, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure that migrants receive the necessary assistance. This position is crucial in helping migrants navigate complex systems and access resources that can aid in their integration and well-being. The Caseworker will also be expected to maintain accurate records and reports on case progress and outcomes, ensuring compliance with IOM policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of migrants' needs and vulnerabilities.
  • Develop individualized case plans in collaboration with migrants, outlining the support and services required.
  • Provide direct support and guidance to migrants throughout their integration process.
  • Liaise with governmental and non-governmental organizations to facilitate access to services such as housing, healthcare, and legal assistance.
  • Maintain detailed case files and documentation, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with IOM standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of cases, making adjustments to case plans as necessary.
  • Participate in training and capacity-building activities to enhance knowledge and skills related to migration issues.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and policies within the organization.

Required Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of migration issues and the challenges faced by migrants.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in case management and support services.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with relevant legal frameworks and policies related to migration.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, international relations, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and may enhance the candidate's qualifications for the role.

Experience:
A minimum of two years of experience in case management, social services, or a related field is required. Experience working with migrant populations or in humanitarian settings is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record of effectively managing cases and providing support to vulnerable individuals.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in additional languages, particularly those commonly spoken by migrant populations, is considered an asset and may enhance communication and service delivery.

Additional Notes:
