Job Overview:
The AL Project Manager position is crucial for supporting the Atlas Logistique teams in the operational planning, implementation, and monitoring of HI/AL’s operational strategy in Darfur. The role encompasses managing storage and transportation components of the project, as well as capacity building initiatives. The Project Manager will work closely with various departments to ensure that project activities are executed effectively, adhering to established standards and procedures. This position is vital in ensuring that the humanitarian response in Darfur is efficient and impactful, particularly in light of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Sudan. The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the project meets its objectives and contributes to the overall mission of HI in providing humanitarian assistance to those in need.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the AL Project Manager include:

• Operational Implementation: Ensuring project implementation in collaboration with relevant departments, planning activities, establishing action plans, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with internal quality standards.
• Project Data Management: Implementing appropriate data collection and management tools, ensuring data accuracy, and conducting regular verifications.
• Project Reporting: Monitoring results and indicators, producing reporting tools, and contributing to reports for funding agencies.
• Expertise in Logistics Services: Ensuring compliance with technical and operational frameworks, improving storage tools and processes, and providing technical training to project staff and partner organizations.
• Management: Leading the Atlas Logistique team, setting objectives, assessing performance, and managing recruitment.
• Influence & Communication: Representing HI/AL in coordination bodies and communicating project developments to stakeholders.
• Strategy & Business Development: Contributing to the design of operational strategies and project proposals for continuity or expansion of initiatives.

Additional Notes:
The position is an international contract lasting for 5 months, starting from mid-September 2026, based in Tawila/Nyala, Sudan. The contract includes various benefits such as social coverage, unemployment insurance for EU nationals, a pension scheme, medical coverage with a 50% employee contribution, and repatriation insurance. The salary starts at 2440 € gross per month, with additional allowances such as a per diem of 706 € net per month and a hardship allowance of 500 € net per month. Employees are entitled to 25 days of paid leave per year and a rest and recuperation period of 5 days every 8 weeks. The position is unaccompanied, and housing will be collectively provided by HI. For residents in the country, a local package will be offered.
