Job Overview:
The Senior Associate (Type 1 Diabetes) position at WJCF involves leading efforts to strengthen systems for early diagnosis, treatment access, and care for individuals living with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). The role requires collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to implement guidelines and improve healthcare delivery for T1D patients. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Guideline Rollout Support: Lead technical support to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on the rollout of Diabetes Mellitus in Children guidelines and RBSK 2.
  • Develop and implement rollout plans, training frameworks, and tools in coordination with ministry teams. Track progress, identify bottlenecks, and develop real-time solutions.
  • Government Engagement and Advocacy: Serve as the primary interface between ministry officials and the WJCF T1D team, building trusted relationships with key stakeholders. Represent WJCF in technical working groups and advocate for evidence-backed strategies to accelerate T1D program outcomes.
  • Evidence Generation: Lead the evidence generation workstream, overseeing study design, data collection, analysis, and dissemination. Translate findings into actionable insights for government partners and WJCF leadership.
  • Program Management & Team Coordination: Lead cross-functional workstreams within the T1D project, coordinating with internal teams and external partners. Support strategic planning, donor reporting, and stakeholder management, fostering a data-driven, outcome-focused work culture.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an MBBS or equivalent medical degree, with 5-8 years of post-qualification experience, including at least 2-3 years in public health program implementation. Demonstrated experience working with government health programs at the national or state level is essential. A track record of leading teams or workstreams, along with strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to inform decisions, is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory, with proficiency in Hindi preferred.

Educational Background:
The position requires an MBBS or equivalent medical degree. A postgraduate specialization in Endocrinology, Pediatrics, or Public Health (MD/DNB/MPH) is preferred, enhancing the candidate's qualifications for the role.

Experience:
Candidates should have 5-8 years of post-qualification experience, with a minimum of 2-3 years specifically in public health program implementation. Experience working with international NGOs or multilateral organizations such as WHO, UNICEF, or similar entities is advantageous. Familiarity with NCD or child health programs, as well as MoHFW program structures, is also beneficial.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, while proficiency in Hindi is preferred. Knowledge of additional languages may be beneficial but is not required.
