The IT Project Manager plays a crucial role in the development and implementation of the Single Data Entry (SDE) solution, which aims to enhance the quality and efficiency of supply chain data entry processes across multiple operational centers. This position requires a strong technical background in software development, particularly in mobile application projects, and the ability to coordinate with various IT organizations to execute the project's test and deployment strategy. The IT Project Manager will ensure that the solutions developed meet high standards and integrate seamlessly with existing systems and stock management tools. This role involves working closely with diverse stakeholders to deliver tailored solutions on time and within budget, while aligning with MSF's strategic objectives. The position also entails providing technical leadership within the SDE core team and managing product development, with occasional travel to the field or the Geneva Office expected.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The IT Project Manager will be responsible for the following duties: Collaborating with IT working groups from co-sponsoring Operational Centers (OCs) to ensure the development of a viable, maintainable, and deployable solution. Leading the end-to-end planning and delivery of the product development project. Building relationships with suppliers to facilitate project success. Monitoring project progress and performance, identifying variances, and implementing corrective actions to keep delivery on track. Identifying, assessing, and managing risks, issues, blockers, and dependencies, including escalation when necessary. Ensuring readiness and support for the go-live of the solution in MSF missions. Coordinating testing, defect resolution, environment readiness, release planning, and go-live activities in collaboration with the Deployment Manager. Promoting adherence to quality standards, security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security requirements, compliance needs, and operational readiness expectations. Leading workshops and activities to define the operating model and ensure a successful transition to business-as-usual after implementation.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a robust background in software development, with proven experience in leading mobile application projects. Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate complex projects, are essential. The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on collaboration and relationship-building. A solid understanding of supply chain processes and data management is also required, along with the ability to adapt to changing environments and priorities.
Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is required. A master's degree or relevant certifications in project management or software development would be advantageous. Candidates should have a strong foundation in software engineering principles and practices, as well as familiarity with mobile application development frameworks and tools.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in IT project management, specifically in software development and mobile application projects. Candidates should have a proven track record of successfully delivering IT solutions in complex environments, ideally within the humanitarian or non-profit sector. Experience working with diverse teams and stakeholders across different geographical locations is highly desirable.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Proficiency in French or other languages relevant to MSF's operational contexts would be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse teams and stakeholders.
