Job Overview:
As the Project Lead, you will spearhead a new initiative aimed at reducing violence among young people in Mount Isa. This full-time role, lasting until August 2027, involves developing a coordinated response that supports young people, their families, and their support networks to foster safer relationships and healthier communities. You will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of an integrated service model, ensuring that responses are trauma-informed, culturally safe, family-inclusive, and evidence-based. Your role will also include overseeing program monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and outcomes measurement, as well as supporting the development of workforce knowledge and capability across participating teams. This position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Project Lead include:
  • Leading the design and implementation of an integrated service model that addresses Youth Intimate Partner Violence.
  • Building strong collaborations between Domestic Family Violence (DFV), Youth Services, and Family Support teams.
  • Ensuring that practice responses are trauma-informed, culturally safe, family-inclusive, and evidence-based.
  • Developing shared policies, procedures, assessment frameworks, and intervention pathways.
  • Overseeing program monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and outcomes measurement.
  • Supporting the development of workforce knowledge and capability across all participating teams.
  • Communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders and building trusted partnerships.
  • Facilitating co-design approaches and navigating complex issues to drive successful project outcomes.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a relevant degree qualification in Community Development, Psychology, Education, Early Childhood, Social Work, or a related field, or significant equivalent experience. Additionally, candidates should have experience in leading the development and implementation of new projects, along with strong leadership skills to motivate and guide a high-performing team towards achieving collective goals and program outcomes.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a relevant degree qualification in fields such as Community Development, Psychology, Education, Early Childhood, Social Work, or a related discipline. Alternatively, significant equivalent experience in a related area may be considered.
