Job Overview:
The Logistics Expert will work under the supervision of the country management and collaborate closely with the management team to ensure that the logistical policies and procedures of the organization are responsive to the local context. This role involves providing advisory support on logistics processes and approaches, coordinating with program and support teams, analyzing logistics trends, and advising on updates and implementations of the Action Against Hunger Logistics and Procurement Profile. The position requires a proactive approach to logistics management, ensuring that all operations align with the humanitarian principles and the specific roles linked to NGO field operations. The Logistics Expert will also be responsible for ensuring that logistics operations are planned, organized, and executed effectively, with a clear understanding of the operational context and challenges faced in humanitarian settings.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Logistics or a related field. Additionally, they should have over 3 years of experience working on logistics projects, particularly in humanitarian contexts. Experience with Action Against Hunger is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate strong capabilities in planning, organizing, and executing logistics operations, with a clear understanding of humanitarian principles and the code of conduct relevant to NGO operations. Knowledge of local, regional, national, and international logistics and procurement policies is essential. Candidates should also possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Educational Background:
A Master's degree in Logistics or a related field is required for this position. This educational background should provide candidates with a solid foundation in logistics management principles, supply chain management, and operational strategies relevant to humanitarian contexts.
Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of experience working in logistics roles, specifically within humanitarian settings. This experience should include direct involvement in logistics operations, procurement processes, and supply chain management. Familiarity with the challenges and dynamics of working in emergency contexts is crucial, as is experience in coordinating logistics for multiple projects simultaneously.
Languages:
Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly if relevant to the operational context in Nigeria.
Additional Notes:
This position is offered on a fixed-term contract under French legislation for a duration of 3 months. The monthly gross salary ranges from 2597 to 2968 euros, depending on experience, and includes a 13th-month salary. Additional benefits include reimbursement of pension insurance for non-French citizens at 16% of the gross monthly salary, a monthly per diem and living allowance of 838 USD net, a country allowance of 150 euros, and a child allowance of 1500 euros per year per child present in the country of origin (up to a maximum of 6000 euros per year). Transportation and accommodation costs will be covered, and medical coverage includes 100% coverage of health and repatriation insurance fees for the employee and dependents. The organization also provides 25 days of paid leave per year, 20 rest and recuperation (RnR) days per year, and airfare reimbursement for RnR travel. ACF is committed to supporting career development through training and offers free access to an e-learning platform.
