Job Overview:
As a Senior Technician (Technical Coordination) based in Norfolk, Virginia, you will play a crucial role in transforming NATO's IT services to support its Digital Endeavour. You will be part of the Communications and Information Systems (CIS) unit, which is responsible for delivering comprehensive CIS products and services to NATO entities in the region. Your role will involve providing specialist advice, managing knowledge, ensuring availability, and supporting incident and problem management. You will also be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service support, ensuring that NATO's technological capabilities are maintained and enhanced during peacetime, crises, and wartime scenarios. This position requires a proactive and enthusiastic approach to problem-solving and a commitment to supporting NATO's mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Technician (Technical Coordination) will be responsible for a variety of critical functions, including:

• Providing specialist advice on technical issues related to CIS products and services.
• Managing knowledge effectively to ensure that best practices are shared and utilized across the organization.
• Overseeing availability management to ensure that all systems are operational and meet the needs of NATO entities.
• Handling incident management processes to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
• Engaging in problem management to identify root causes and implement long-term solutions.
• Delivering customer service support to ensure that all users have access to the necessary resources and assistance.
• Collaborating with other team members and departments to enhance the overall effectiveness of CIS services.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Senior Technician position must possess a higher vocational training in a relevant discipline, accompanied by at least 2 years of post-related experience. Alternatively, a secondary educational qualification with a minimum of 4 years of post-related experience is acceptable. Candidates should have practical experience in the implementation and maintenance of ICT end systems within a large organization, demonstrating a strong understanding of ICT systems and the ability to work independently to solve complex problems. Extensive experience in configuring both hardware and software is also required, along with a proven track record of delivering high-quality technical support.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes higher vocational training in a relevant field, such as information technology, computer science, or a related discipline. Candidates with a secondary educational qualification will also be considered, provided they have the requisite experience in the field. Continuous professional development and training in ICT systems and technologies are highly valued.

Experience:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a technical role, particularly in the implementation and maintenance of ICT systems. Those with 4 years of experience following a secondary educational qualification will also be considered. Experience in a large organizational setting is essential, as is a demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory for this position. Candidates should be able to communicate effectively in English, as it is the primary language used within NATO. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.
