Job Overview: The position of coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Grants Coordinator is essential for providing critical support in managing grants and assisting the Grant Manager in delivering quality programs that align with NRC's country strategy and Action Plan. The role involves ensuring compliance with NRC's policies, guidelines, and procedures while executing grant-related functions. The Grants Coordinator will develop and maintain an overview of all grants, including donor rules and regulations, and internal and external deadlines. This position requires effective coordination between program teams, support functions, monitoring and evaluation, partnerships, and finance. The Grants Coordinator will also contribute to the continuous improvement of internal grant management systems and capitalize on best practices and lessons learned in grant management.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Grants Coordinator will manage a specific portfolio of grants, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and regulations. Responsibilities include updating the grant management platform (Cycles) and archiving portfolio documents according to NRC standards. The Coordinator will assist in identifying funding opportunities and analyzing calls for proposals, as well as supporting the Grant Manager in coordinating the proposal development process in accordance with NRC's internal procedures. Quality control of narrative and financial reports before submission to donors is also a key responsibility. The Coordinator will coordinate the submission of non-objection requests to national authorities, follow up on their processing, and inform relevant teams of any developments that may impact project implementation. Additionally, the role involves facilitating grant opening, progress, and closure meetings according to NRC's internal procedures, supporting audit coordination, and representing NRC to relevant partners and donors. The Grants Coordinator will produce and disseminate a monthly dashboard of grant deadlines and document, analyze, and share lessons learned from the proposal development and reporting processes, as well as project cycle management activities. Internal assistance on donor-related issues, including organizing and delivering training on donor rules and regulations, is also part of the role, along with contributing to training on project cycle management and internal tools. The Coordinator will support consortium and partnership management as required and perform any other tasks delegated by supervisors.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree (BAC + 5) in Economics, International Development, International Relations, Business Management, Project Management, or a related field. A minimum of three years of relevant experience in grant management, proposal development, or humanitarian project management within an international NGO is required. Demonstrated experience in coordinating proposals and reports for multiple donors, managing multiple grants simultaneously, and working with consortia and national partners is highly desirable. Strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills, along with solid analytical skills (data and financial), are essential. The ability to mediate in high-stress scenarios with competitive interests is also important. Excellent written and oral communication skills in French are mandatory, while proficiency in English is an asset. Candidates should have above-average computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
