Job Overview:
The Associate Capacity Building Officer will play a crucial role in implementing capacity building and knowledge management projects within UNHCR's Sustainable Responses Service (SRS). This position is designed to enhance the organization's ability to engage with development actors and promote sustainable solutions for refugees and forcibly displaced persons. The officer will be responsible for designing, organizing, and facilitating the development of various learning products and tools aimed at improving the capacity of UNHCR staff to work effectively with development partners. This includes creating onboarding packages, e-learning modules, and community practices that will support UNHCR staff in understanding and navigating the complexities of development programming and engagement. The role also involves documenting experiences, producing multimedia resources, and collaborating with technical specialists to host webinars and masterclasses that align with UNHCR's strategic objectives. The officer will contribute to the development of a 'Sustainable Responses' website to showcase best practices and facilitate knowledge sharing among stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Associate Capacity Building Officer include:

• Facilitating the development of learning tools for UNHCR staff, including onboarding packages and e-learning resources.
• Documenting and analyzing key case studies to outline progress and lessons learned in collaboration with development actors.
• Designing and developing learning platforms and resources that provide critical information on sustainable programming.
• Collaborating with technical specialists to design and host webinars and masterclasses on inclusion and engagement with development actors.
• Supporting the launch of the CoLAB Programme to equip staff with tools and knowledge for effective engagement with development actors.
• Producing the regular Partnership in Practice bulletin and updating the Development Community of Practice site.
• Supporting the production of the Development Playbook by identifying good practices and conceptualizing case studies.
• Coordinating peer-exchange learning opportunities and supporting Government-to-Government bilateral dialogues.
• Providing broader support to capacity building efforts with technical teams and maintaining a training tracker for workshop activities.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Associate Capacity Building Officer position include:

• A university degree in Law, International Law, Public Policy, Social Science, Development, Economics, International Relations, or a related field.
• Relevant work experience, including 3 years with an undergraduate degree, 2 years with a graduate degree, or 1 year with a doctorate.
• Essential experience in capacity building support and strong skills in web and video editing.
• Experience in developing training materials and facilitating workshops, both online and face-to-face.
• Familiarity with innovative content-building solutions, including audio-visual learning tools.
• Previous work experience in forced displacement settings and knowledge of the humanitarian-development nexus is an asset.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a university degree in a relevant field such as Law, International Law, Public Policy, Social Science, Development, Economics, or International Relations. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of refugee issues and the development landscape.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience for candidates with an undergraduate degree, 2 years for those with a graduate degree, or 1 year for candidates holding a doctorate. Experience in capacity building support is essential, along with a strong background in web and video editing, and the development of training materials. Familiarity with forced displacement settings and the humanitarian-development nexus is also advantageous.

Languages:
Excellent written and spoken English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of French or another UN official language is considered an advantage, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in a multilingual environment.
