Job Overview:
The Partnerships Intern position offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in event coordination, partnerships, and communications within the dynamic environment of the United Nations. The intern will play a crucial role in supporting global programs, enhancing knowledge management, and developing essential skills in stakeholder engagement and international relations. This internship is designed to provide hands-on learning experiences that will contribute to the intern's professional development while supporting the UNOPS Geneva Office's mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will work under the direct supervision of the Partnerships Specialist and will be responsible for several key functions. These include supporting global events participation by researching and identifying relevant events, maintaining an updated calendar, and coordinating planning activities for delegations. The intern will assist in developing tools related to global events, provide logistics support, and draft internal communications. Additionally, the intern will facilitate information sharing related to global events, respond to requests from global programs, and help with the visibility of UNOPS Geneva on social media and other platforms. The role also involves developing internal tools and materials, conducting research, and providing broader partnership and communications support as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in or have recently completed (within three years prior to the application date) a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in developmental studies, political science, international relations, or a related field. No prior experience is required, but candidates with one year of experience in business development, communications, or partnerships in a reputable organization will be preferred. Excellent report writing skills and proficiency in using computer software packages, particularly Google Suite/Workspace and web-based systems, are also required.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a degree in developmental studies, political science, international relations, or a related field. Candidates must either be currently enrolled in such a program or have completed their degree within the last three years prior to applying for the internship.

Experience:
While no prior experience is necessary for this internship, candidates with one year of experience in business development, communications, or partnerships are preferred. This experience should ideally be in a reputable organization, demonstrating the ability to handle tasks related to event coordination and stakeholder engagement effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required, while proficiency in French is desirable. Additionally, intermediate proficiency in Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, and Russian is also considered beneficial for this position, enhancing the intern's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
The internship is set for a duration of six months, with the possibility of extension subject to organizational requirements, availability of funds, and satisfactory performance.
