Job Overview:
The Assistant Logistique & Finance for the Atlantic base will work under the authority of the Logistics and Finance Manager for the Atlantic zone (Nantes and Angers). This position involves collaboration with program teams, specifically in the areas of Water, Hygiene, and Sanitation (EHA) and community mobilization. The internship aims to provide insights into the operations of an NGO, understanding the relationship between headquarters, coordination, and fieldwork. Interns will have the opportunity to visit various intervention sites, learn about different professions in the field, and understand the operational constraints of a mission. They will also discover and practice various procurement procedures and financial tracking tools.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of the Assistant Logistique & Finance include assisting the logistics and finance manager in understanding the market and updating procurement tools in compliance with donor regulations. The intern will be responsible for managing program and logistics orders, tracking purchases, ensuring the transport and delivery of goods, and storing items prior to technical team interventions. They will assist in implementing distributions and participate in field activities. Additionally, the intern will be responsible for archiving and centralizing logistics documents, updating accounting journals, archiving accounting documents, and monitoring invoicing and prepayments.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should have a background in humanitarian logistics, accounting and/or financial management, project management, development, international relations, or political science. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, is essential. Strong analytical and writing skills, prioritization abilities, curiosity, critical thinking, organizational skills, and teamwork capabilities are required. A keen interest in the context of water access in France and a commitment to the principles and work of Solidarités International are also necessary. A valid driver's license (Permis B) is mandatory.

Educational Background:
The position requires candidates to have completed a relevant educational program in humanitarian logistics, accounting, financial management, project management, development, international relations, or political science. This educational background will provide the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively perform the duties associated with the internship.

Experience:
While prior experience in a similar role is beneficial, it is not strictly required for this internship position. However, candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of logistics and finance principles, as well as a willingness to learn and adapt to the operational environment of an NGO.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory for this position, given the local context and the need to communicate effectively with team members and beneficiaries. Proficiency in English is also advantageous, as it may be necessary for communication with international colleagues and stakeholders.

  • The internship will be based in Nantes, with a legal stipend of 15% of the hourly social security ceiling in France. The stipend is calculated based on actual hours worked, averaging around 154 hours per month. The organization will cover 50% of public transport costs and provide meal vouchers worth €8.90 per day of actual internship, with a 60% contribution from SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL.
