Job Overview:
The FAO Project Field Coordinator will play a crucial role in the Transformative Climate-Resilient Agriculture (CRA) project, which aims to provide technical support and translate concepts into practical actions at the field level. This position requires effective community mobilization, engaging farmers and local groups, facilitating participation, and promoting inclusive ownership of project interventions. The Project Field Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating with various stakeholders, including provincial and local government partners, to ensure smooth implementation of project activities. Strong communication, problem-solving, and reporting skills are essential for managing field operations and supporting monitoring and learning processes. The role involves regular field visits, overseeing project activities, and providing technical advice to promote climate-resilient practices and sustainable agricultural interventions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the FAO Project Field Coordinator include: assisting in the design and regular review of the project workplan; coordinating with government partners and community organizations; strengthening partnerships and inter-agency coordination; conducting field visits to oversee project activities; providing technical advice at the community level; maintaining communication with local stakeholders; supporting capacity development through training and workshops; coordinating procurement and logistics; implementing cash-based interventions; assisting in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) activities; addressing operational bottlenecks; preparing progress reports; representing the project at provincial meetings; and performing other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Agriculture, Rural Development, Development Studies, Community Development/Organizing, or other Sustainable Development related fields. They should have at least 5 years of relevant experience in agriculture or rural development sectors, project implementation, capacity building, and coordination with government structures, NGOs, and UN agencies. A working knowledge of English (level C) is required, and candidates must be nationals of the Philippines.
Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in a relevant field such as Agriculture, Rural Development, Development Studies, or Sustainable Development. Candidates must have their qualifications recognized by an institution accredited in the World Higher Education Database (WHED).
Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in agriculture or rural development sectors, which includes project implementation, capacity building, and coordination with national and regional government structures, NGOs, and private sector organizations, as well as UN agencies.
Languages:
A working knowledge of English is mandatory for this position. Additionally, excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Filipino are required. Knowledge of relevant local dialects is considered an advantage.
