Job Overview:
The Coordination Associate of Genocide Education Initiatives will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the International Programme on Holocaust and Genocide Education (IPHGE) in Cambodia. This position is integral to advancing education on violent pasts, fostering critical thinking, and promoting sustainable peace across diverse national contexts. The associate will work closely with the Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) and the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts (MoCFA) to strengthen history education regarding the Democratic Kampuchea period and related crimes. The role involves maintaining communication with national stakeholders, international partners, and UNESCO Headquarters to ensure the timely delivery of project outputs in accordance with UNESCO standards and donor requirements. The associate will also contribute to monitoring project activities, maintaining documentation, and supporting visibility efforts, thereby enhancing the overall impact of genocide education initiatives in Cambodia.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Coordination Associate of Genocide Education Initiatives include: supporting the implementation of IPHGE activities; liaising with national consultants to facilitate timely delivery of outputs; maintaining communication and collaboration with relevant Ministries and stakeholders; monitoring project activities and maintaining documentation; contributing to progress reporting and visibility efforts; assisting with programme management processes such as procurement and contract administration; preparing and reviewing materials related to genocide education and Global Citizenship Education (GCED); organizing and implementing activities related to peace education and youth engagement; facilitating communication among consultants and national counterparts; supporting the organization of meetings, workshops, and consultations; assisting with communication and outreach activities; and carrying out other duties as assigned by the UNESCO Representative and project team.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the position include a strong understanding of education systems, particularly in the context of history education and genocide studies. The candidate should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
